PGA TOUR Golf Bets: Wells Fargo Championship Head to Head Picks and Parlay
A thrilling cash on our +544 parlay at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson last weekend!
We hit two legs after Round 2 with Thomas Detry and Seamus Power getting cut and then watch Stephan Jaegar outduel Min Woo Lee by one stroke to win it for us on Day 4.
Let's do it again, shall we?
Betting on winners and who will finish in the Top 5, 10 and 20 markets gets all the attention around golf tournaments, but betting on head-to-head matchups can be an equally lucrative and entertaining experience for golf bettors. For our model's best picks in those markets, check out our full Wells Fargo Championship Predictions, now exclusively part of Dimers Pro.
We have an in-house tool designed for pitting golfers against one another and simulating the results. We can see who will finish higher in their head-to-head matchup, either after Round 1 or over the course of the entire tournament.
With a handy "Fair Odds" to "Percentages" toggle, you can always check to see if there's value in any given matchup.

+564 Head-to-Head Wells Fargo Championship Parlay
We cashed in last week and we're looking for a repeat with a field that's repping some of the big names on the PGA TOUR.
To make this parlay, we'll be using the Head-to-Head matchups available at DraftKings as they have our preferred options available. We'll enter both golfers into our H2H Predictor, select the Tournament-long option, and see which golfer gets the advantage for the weekend.
MORE: Dimers' In-House Golf Rankings
MATCHUP | WIN % | ODDS |
---|---|---|
Xander Schauffele to beat Rory McIlroy | 54.1% | +105 |
Wyndham Clark to beat Max Homa | 57.8% | -130 |
Sahith Theegala to beat Justin Thomas | 56.8% | -120 |
Leg 1: Xander Schauffele to beat Rory McIlroy (+105)
We start off with our best value of them all and a no-brainer once you look at our model's projections for the Wells Fargo Championship. Xander Schauffele is our favorite to win at a9.9% probability, identifying a fair price in his +900 odds to do so.
In this matchup with Rory McIlroy, who happens to be our second-most likely winner at 6.3%, Schauffele is projected to beat McIlroy 54.1% of the time. His odds of +105 imply less than a 50% chance so there's clear value in playing this one on its own, too.
Both these golfers are looking for their first solo victory of the year, but Xander has shown far more consistency with seven T10 finishes or better, including four at T5 or better, while McIlroy has finished inside the Top 20 just twice(excluding the team-based Zurich Classic).
Leg 2: Wyndham Clark to beat Max Homa (-130)
A DimersBOT favorite gets our second leg and for good reason. Clark is one of the best golfers over the past two years and is second in FedExCup points so far in 2024. He's got a DimersBOT predicted 80-1 win at Pebble Beach, plus finishes of 2nd, T2 and T3 in four of his last five events and is 2nd overall in Strokes Gained: Total.
Max Homa is no slouch, but hasn't quite put it together for the final push this year. He does have five finishes inside the Top 20 with an impressive T3 at The Masters and a T8 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. However, he gets just a 36.5% probability to beat Clark, who owns our model's third-highest win probability at 5.6%.

Leg 3: Sahith Theegala to beat Justin Thomas (-120)
For our final matchup, we're backing Sahith Theegala to outlast Justin Thomas and on results alone, both golfers can make an argument. Thomas is talented if not volatile - he has as many missed cuts as he does finishes inside the Top 10 with three apiece.
Theegala has played in more events and has shown more consistency. He's been cut just once in solo events and has a pair of 2nd-place finishes and three others Top 10s. He gets over a 10% greater probability than Thomas to add another Top 10 or better to his resume this year and a 62.2% probability to tie or beat him outright this weekend.

Can I bet on golf with Dimers?
No. There’s no golf bet slip on our site because we don’t take any golf bets ourselves. We’re the friend who gives you the best golf picks and predictions then tells you where and how to get the best golf sign up offers at the sportsbooks, so you can throw your golf bets down. That’s it!
When you click on one of our buttons or links in our golf content, you’re whisked away to DraftKings, BetMGM, FanDuel, or one of the many other sportsbooks we work with.
Once you get there, you can join up to score a welcome bonus (up to $200!), and then get those golf bets down for yourself, but you’re betting on the golf with them, not us. Since you are never betting anything directly with us, we don’t have access to your personal information or sensitive financial info like credit card numbers.
It also means that despite our best efforts to confirm that a sports betting site still has that awesome golf sign up offer available, the best ones often disappear just as quickly as they appeared. We always take these offers down once we know they’re no longer available. We take our responsibility to provide up to date golf information very seriously.
Finally, Responsible Gambling is extremely important to us, so please remember that golf betting should be seen as a form of entertainment - adding to your enjoyment while watching from the course of the couch - not a side hustle or second income stream.
