Stanley Cup Final: Game 4

Why the favorite Avalanche will cover the puck line
The Colorado Avalanche have not lost two games in a row this postseason. Colorado is 14-3 in the playoffs. The Avalanche were 7-0 on the road before losing in Game 3 of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals.
Lightning vs Avalanche is the first Stanley Cup Final in NHL history to feature two teams that don’t end in the letter ‘S’

It also is only the second time in the history of the 4 major US sports that this has been the case
A stat that exists, but does not matter @Jomboy_
Captain Gabriel Landeskog has scored at least one goal in two of the three games in this series. Landeskog scored two goals in Game 3 on the power play and he has been in every game in this series.
Cale Makar recorded two assists in Game 3 and has six assists in the last five games. Nathan MacKinnon also finds a way back on the score sheet.
Why the underdog Lightning will cover the puck line
Darcy Kuemper was awful in Game 3 as he only stopped 17 shots and gave up five goals. Kuemper was pulled in favor of Pavel Francouz. Kuemper struggles once again and Andrei Vasilevskiy is on his game, who stopped 37 shots. The Tampa Bay Lightning are 8-1 at home this postseason.
The Lightning have not allowed a 5-on-5 goal at home since Game 6 of the first round against Toronto.

(Six straight home games -- 2 vs. Panthers, 3 vs. Rangers, 1 vs. Avalanche.)
Last 5-on-5 goal they allowed at home was scored by Tavares late in second period of Game 6.
The last time Tampa Bay lost at home was Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Steven Stamkos and Ondrej Palat have 10 goals each this postseason, but Nikita Kucherov’s and Brayden Point’s injury could loom large.
Why Avalanche vs. Lightning will go Over 6 Total Goals
The first three games of this series have been over six total goals scored and it doesn’t seem like it is going to stop anytime soon. There has been a total of 22 goals scored in the first three games of this series. The Colorado Avalanche and the Tampa Bay Lightning love to light the lamp.

Why Avalanche vs. Lightning will stay Under 6 Total Goals
Both teams don’t give up high dangerous chances and decide to tighten it up a little bit defensively. Darcy Kuemper remembers to stop pucks again and Andrei Vasilevskiy gets on a roll. Tampa Bay has key players injured and they can’t score and neither can Colorado.
The X-Factor: Darcy Kuemper, Goalie, Colorado Avalanche
Darcy Kuemper has been up and down during these NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. If the Colorado Avalanche wants to hoist their first Stanley Cup title for the first time since 2001, Kuemper is going to have to be much better in Game 4 and for the rest of this series than he was in Game 3.
Darcy Kuemper only made 17 saves and was pulled after the fifth goal in the second period in favor of backup goalie Pavel Francouz. In 13 postseason games, Kuemper has a 8-3-0 record with a .892 save percentage and a 2.76 GAA, along with one shutout.

During the regular season in 57 games, his record was 37-12-4 with a .921 save percentage and a 2.54 GAA, along with five shutouts. Darcy Kuemper needs to get back to being the regular season Kuemper in Game 4 and not the bad one.
If he plays well in Game 4 or if they defend in front of him better, the Colorado Avalanche could be one win away from winning their first Stanley Cup title since 2001 at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado.
