NBA Sixth Man Predictions

Sixth Man Best Picks

Jason: Tyrese Haliburton +1400
Bet $10, win $140 at PointsBet

Buddy Hield's future could ultimately make this pick a complete and utter failure, but as it stands Tyrese Haliburton should be coming off the bench for the Kings this season and is a chance to blossom in his second year as a pro. His rookie year splits of 47 FG%, 41 3P% and 13 PPG are ideal numbers for a sixth man, and he is only going to improve. Keep your eyes open for this one.

Ryan: Kevin Huerter +1300
Bet $10, win $130 at PointsBet

Although Trae Young is the star man at the Hawks, a lot of their success last season (and any they're set to have in coming years) comes down to the depth they have on the roster.

And one man that exemplifies this depth, is the flaming redhead himself, Kevin Huerter.

Huerter has pretty consistently averaged around 11-3-3 in each of his three seasons in the league, but very much has the potential to lead the Atlanta second unit this season push those numbers to around 18-5-5.

If he is to do that, he will jump right up to those Clarkson-like odds and with the Hawks seen as one of the better underdog stories in the East behind the superteams, a Sixth Man trophy would be very fitting.

NBA Sixth Man Value Picks

Jason: Derrick Rose +1800
Bet $10, win $180 at PointsBet

The Knicks finally have something to work with after a good season that landed them in the playoffs. They've continued to build in the offseason, adding Kemba Walker to the frame who will start in the Point Guard position, leaving the league's youngest MVP, Derrick Rose, to come off the bench. Rose will need to stay healthy, only playing 35 games last season, but when he is fully fit, he shows glimpses of what made him a star in the first place.

Ryan: Patty Mills +1800
Bet $10, win $180 at PointsBet

Speaking of the super teams in the East as I did in my top pick up above, Patty Mills has made the switch to the Brooklyn Nets where he will be given the responsibility of running the bench unit.

The Australian showed just what he can do when leading a unit at the recent Tokyo Olympics, guiding his Australian side to their first ever Olympic medal.

With guys like Cameron Thomas, Joe Harris and Nic Claxton likely to be getting decent minutes alongside the Australian, he will have the nice balance of being the primary ball handler whilst playing with guys who can knock down shots and get him assists.

And with a career 3-point percentage of 38.8%, Mills will also benefit greatly from the minutes he will get with the big three of Harden, Durant and Irving kicking the ball out to him in the corner.

NBA Sixth Man Sleepers

Jason: Bobby Portis +2000
Bet $10, win $200 at PointsBet

It's time for the Bucks to get some respect! They were overlooked for all of the player awards last season despite being the team that would eventually go on to win the title, so we're expecting a market correction this year if Milwaukee are able to replicate some of their postseason success in the regular season. Portis will be the man behind Giannis and Brook Lopez in the rotation to play the Center/Forward combo position and he should see an increase on his production after a great NBA Finals series. This one is worth a small play.

Ryan: Josh Hart +6000
Bet $10, win $600 at PointsBet

What do you look for most in a Sixth Man on your basketball team? Yep, someone who can do it all.

Not many guys in the league are more versatile than Josh Hart, and with the 6"5 wing recently re-signing with the Pelicans, his role as the bench leader should be safe.

Arguably the best rebounder in the league for his size, Hart averaged a monster 8 boards per game last season to go alongside his 9.2 points and 2.3 assists.

A guy who has got better every season he's been in the league, Hart's odds are too long considering how well the Pelicans could perform this season with Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram leading the starters and Hart the main man coming off the bench.
