How Should You Bet on the WPL Pro-Am?
Using the background information available for the top putters in the event, as well as the odds offered by Betfred, we’re sharing some bets we like when the action starts on April 20th.
To Make the Top 12
Jon “Ace” Ventura – No (-120)
Jon gets his nickname from his ability to hit the hole-in-one, but his high-risk playstyle leads to a lot of three-putts. On a course of only Par 2s and a competitive field, fading Ace might be the play here.
Randy Reeves – No (+130)
Though he holds the lowest score in Masters history and a 2016 course record, Randy’s efficiency has dipped in the last two years, averaging a full 2 strokes greater than before. It may be a tall ask for the veteran to return to his 2016 form.
To Make the Top 6
Putter | YES | NO |
Matt McCaslin | -210 | +150 |
Olivia Prokopova | -180 | +130 |
Greg Newport | -180 | +130 |
Joey Graybeal | -120 | -120 |
Gary Hester | +150 | -210 |
Randy Reeves | +200 | -250 |
Gary Hester – Yes (+150)
One of two players with plus-money odds to make the Top 6. Fresh off winning the inaugural WPL event, Gary will lean on his experience and should make a deep run.
Joey Graybeal – Yes (-120)
The 2019 Masters winner, Joey Graybeal has finished Top 5 in his last 10 contests and made the most holes-in-one at the inaugural EPL event last month. At -120 to make the Top 6, this is a great price for one of the most consistent putters in the game.
Outright Winners
Putter | YES | NO |
Matt McCaslin | +400 | -600 |
Olivia Prokopova | +500 | -750 |
Greg Newport | +550 | -850 |
Joey Graybeal | +800 | -1400 |
Gary Hester | +1500 | N/A |
The Field | +120 | -170 |
Olivia Prokopova to win (+500)
Coming off back-to-back Masters victories, Olivia lost in the quarterfinals at last month’s event by a single stroke. One of the sharpest putters in the world, she has a Top-10 finish in her last 21 tournaments and will look to avenge her inaugural WPL loss.
Greg Newport to win (+550)
Greg is a top-three favorite for a reason, as he remains one of few individuals in the world to shoot a perfect 18 on a MiniGolf course. The ability to birdie any hole is an elite tool to have, making him one of the top winner plays.
Gary Hester to win (+1500)
The reigning WPL champ has the longest odds to win this week’s event, while the contestant he defeated is the favorite (Matt McCaslin +400). We’re not overthinking this one; sprinkle a little on Gary to go back-to-back.

Holes-in-One Props and Lines
Total Holes-in-One – Over/Under 247.5 (-120 each way)
This is the number for all players combined in Rounds 1-4 (no playoffs). At thirty-six golfers competing, you’ll need an average of 6.9 holes-in-one per contestant to hit the Over. With some of the sharpest putters making up a portion of the field, including a number of hole-in-one specialists, we think the Over is the play. Plus, you get to root for the tee shot and that’s always more fun!
Hole-by-Hole Betting
The featured group of Olivia Prokopova/Matt McCaslin/Joey Graybeal will have lines to bet on the total pars and holes-in-one for each of the 18 holes in Round 1.
Individual Hole Betting Notes
- Hole #1 and Hole #17 are the only two with a line of 2.5 in this market as a result of being the easier holes on the course. If you want to fade the ace, the Under at +130 on #17 gives you the highest number to do so, needing just one golfer to miss their first putt.
- +900 for a hole-in-one? Hole #13 is the trickiest on the course, but the Over/Under is set at just 0.5 for an ace, with some great plus-money for the Over, a perfect time to use your free $5 WPL wager from Betfred.
- Five holes (4, 10, 11, 12, 14) offer betting on the Total Pars at 2.5. With every hole set to a Par 2, you’re betting for or against the three-putt on these holes. If you think at least one golfer will struggle, then betting the Under at +150 on Hole #4, 10 or 14 is your best bet.
