The NFL season has begun, and that means it is time to make some Super Bowl LIX predictions. But you can’t look towards the future without considering the present state of affairs.

While every NFL team has made changes to its roster in an effort to improve, all factors need to be considered before determining which team is the most likely contender for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

This information is vital for punters who wish to make some money on traditional and crypto betting sites, as it gives you inside info and can increase your odds of winning. In particular, the latter are becoming more popular because they allow you to bet on your favorite sports with speed and anonymity. Most also have much higher welcome bonuses compared to those offered by regulated sportsbooks, so it won’t be surprising to see many NFL fans visiting these sites during the new season (source: https://www.sportscasting.com/betting-sites/crypto/).

Of course, a lot will change in the coming months, but the current situation is the best place to start.

Leading NFL Teams and Power Rankings

Take a look at some of the top contenders:

1. Kansas City Chiefs (+500)

No surprise here—the Chiefs are the favorites to win it all again after claiming Super Bowl LVIII in a thrilling 25-22 victory over the 49ers. They also lifted the Lombardi in 2023, edging out the Eagles 38-35. The Chiefs looked sharp in preseason, picking up wins against top teams like the 49ers, Ravens, Dolphins and Bills.

2. San Francisco 49ers (+750)

The 49ers came painfully close to Super Bowl glory but couldn’t seal the deal. With seven players on PFF’s list of the best players for 2024, including offensive tackle Trent Williams at number 3, San Francisco remains one of the league’s elite squads. They’ve got the talent, but they’ll need to iron out a few kinks to go all the way this season.

3. Baltimore Ravens (+1400)

The Baltimore Ravens have shown progress, but their preseason was a mixed bag, including a close win against the Falcons (13-12) and a loss to the Eagles (13-16). With star QB Lamar Jackson leading the way, there’s reason for optimism in Baltimore in the AFC North.

4. Detroit Lions (+1300)

The Lions are looking stronger than ever, bouncing back from last season’s disappointment. They’ve got one of the league’s top offenses, and their defense has made serious strides. In preseason, they held their own against the Steelers (24-17), Chiefs (24-23) and Buccaneers (31-23), though they stumbled in a tough loss to the Giants (3-14). Expect them to be in the mix.

5. Cincinnati Bengals (+3000)

The Bengals are healthy, and that’s dangerous for the rest of the league. Joe Burrow is playing at an elite level, and Ja’Marr Chase looks ready to dominate. Although their preseason wasn’t stellar, with losses to the Colts, Bears and Buccaneers, they finished strong last season with a dominant 31-14 win over the Browns. Don’t count them out.

Teams Least Likely to Win Super Bowl LIX

Two of the teams with the lowest odds of winning the upcoming Super Bowl are the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos.

With odds of winning at +75000 and +30000, respectively, it’s not looking promising for these two teams.

The Panthers failed to score against the Jaguars in December 2023 and the Buccaneers in January 2024 and also performed poorly against the Patriots and the Jets in the NFL preseason.

The Broncos did fare better, beating the Colts, Packers and Cardinals in their preseason games. However, they fell short of the playoffs last season, resulting in these poor odds of winning this season.
