Arsenal vs. Liverpool - Pick of the Day

Let me just start by pointing out that Anthony Taylor is an absolute donkey and he should be ashamed for the red he gave to my beloved Spurs last week. I’m not sure it made much of a difference or if Tottenham deserved anything out of the match, but Taylor can go stick it where the sun don’t shine for that soft ass red.

As for this game, I don’t see a lot of scenarios where this isn’t high scoring. Arsenal aren’t particularly adept defensively, while Liverpool have given up 9 goals in just 7 matches including 3 last week to Brighton. Oh, and these sides have scored a combined 38 goals, which projects somewhere above 4 total. So, while over 2.5 isn’t spectacularly priced at -154, it’s strong enough to feel worth it.

Tactically, I think it also makes sense here. Liverpool are going to be aggressive as they try to fight their way back into the European spots which should expose them at the back but help them find goals, and, with midweek European fixtures for both, you may see some tired legs and lazier defending (though, as some may point out, Trent Alexander-Arnold is always liable look like that).

Over 2.5 isn’t always the best angle in these bigger matches, but in this one it feels right. Goals should be plentiful for the picking in this fall harvest season.
