Top MLB Betting Trends for Wednesday, August 9

1. Ryan Jeffers (MIN) To Record a Hit

Frequency: 10 of last 10 games
Odds: -190

Ryan Jeffers was in this column last night but didn't draw the start. That means his streak is still alive and we're sticking with him. The Minnesota catcher has been absolutely on fire lately, going 10 consecutive games with a hit and with no reason to expect he'll slow down today. He faces Detroit starter Alex Faedo, who sports a career .263 opponent batting average and Jeffers has a .312 average against righties like Faedo this season.

2. Mitch Garver (SEA) To Record a Hit

Frequency: 8 of last 10 games
Odds: -145

Another catcher with a hot bat, Mitch Garver would be on a nine-game hit streak but he went 0-5 last night. He's only gone back-to-back games without a hit five times this season and gets an extremely hittable A's starter in Austin Pruitt, followed by one of the league's worst bullpens. He's not confirmed in the lineup at the time of this writing, but if he starts, he's in a great spot to keep his bat hot.

3. Kyle Tucker (HOU) To Record an RBI

Frequency: 6 of last 9 games
Odds: +165

For our last leg of the trends parlay, we're calling on Kyle Tucker once again. Tucker has picked up an RBI in six of nine games for a total of 13 in that span, including a 9th-inning go-ahead grand slam last night. He's got a real chance to post his career high in RBI, sitting 25 back of his current high mark of 107. At +165 odds, this is a play we recommend scooping up whether in our trends parlay or as an individual leg on its own.

Remember to gamble responsibly and set limits on your betting activities. It's important to approach sports betting as a form of entertainment, rather than relying on it for financial gain. Set a budget for yourself and stick to it, and never bet more than you can afford to lose.
