Top MLB Betting Trends for Wednesday, August 30

1. James Outman (LAD) To Record a Hit

Frequency: 10 of last 15 games
Odds: -130

Not only is this a pretty solid trend to start with, but our model actually finds exceptional value in James Outman's hit prop. With a 14.7% edge over the books' odds, we're capitalizing on mispriced odds for a player who is swinging the bat well. Outman might be on a six-game hit streak if he wasn't walked twice in Saturday's matchup with Boston. He hits .239 off right-handed pitchers with all of his power (16 of 17 homers off RHP) and opposing starter Brandon Pfaadt has allowed a .285 average to left-handed batters like Outman.

2. Miguel Rojas (LAD) To Record a Hit

Frequency: 10 of last 12 games
Odds: -190

Dodgers shortstop Miguel Rojas finds himself on a little six-game hit streak, making the most of his opportunities at the bottom of Los Angeles' lineup. He's having one of his strongest months of the season, hitting .246 in August which is .24 points higher than his average on the season. Diamondbacks starter Brandon Pfaadt is allowing a .272 average to all opposing batters with a .260 average to right-handed hitters. The Diamondbacks bullpen isn't much better with a 1.37 WHIP which is 9th-worst in the league.

3. Mookie Betts (LAD) To Record an RBI

Frequency: 8 of last 11 games
Odds: +145

This one almost seems too good to be true, but Mookie Betts has come through for us time and time again, including with an eleventh-hour home run shot last night. Betts is hitting .452 in August with 9 home runs and 26 RBI. This is one of the most elite months of baseball we've seen in a long time, rivaled only by Shohei Ohtani's 15-HR June earlier this year. This streak has thrust Betts into the NL MVP conversation which until now, appeared locked up by Ronald Acuna Jr. for the past three months. Brandon Pfaadt takes the mound for the D-Backs with a 5.91 ERA. What more could you ask for?
