Top MLB Betting Trends for Tuesday, August 1
1. T. Casas (BOS) To Record a Hit
Frequency: 9 of last 10 games
Odds: -160
Triston Casas has been one of the more impressive hitters in baseball since the All-Star Break. If you go back far enough, he's picked up a hit in 16 of his last 18 games. He's raised his average from .220 to .258 over that timeframe, and he's doing so with style, tallying seven home runs over that period. If you want to kick this parlay up a notch, mix in a Casas RBI for some plus-money, but we're anchoring our trends parlay wtih him to get a hit. When you give us -160 on a trend that's hitting at 90% for a player who's showing no signs of letting up, we're all over it.
2. Wilmer Flores (SF) To Record a Hit
Frequency: 12 of last 14 games
Odds: -230
Wilmer Flores has been a rake over the month of July, juicing his batting average up a staggering 50 points to .298. He's mashed five home runs over this 14-game span. Tonight he gets a matchup with Diamondbacks' true rookie, Slade Cecconi. He's making his first big-league start and allowed a .273 batting average through his 20 starts this year in the minors. Flores should have no problem getting a knock against this young prospect making his debut.

3. Yandy Diaz (TB) To Record an RBI
Frequency: 6 of last 10 games
Odds: +260
For our final leg, we're going with Yandy Diaz of the Rays to drive one home against Gerrit Cole and the Yankees. Diaz has been a hitting machine at the top of the order, with the sixth-highest batting average in all of MLB at .317. We'd love to take his hit prop here but it's juiced way up to -270 in some places so we're not touching it. He typically sees 4-5 ABs a game so he's got plenty of chances. You could take his over 1.5 bases if that's your fancy (has done so in 12 of last 17 games) but our data suggests the best value is in his RBI prop so we're locking that in.
