Top MLB Betting Trends for Thursday, July 20

1. Lars Nootbar (STL) To Record a Hit

Frequency: 12 of last 13 games
Odds: -190

Already in possession of one of the greatest names in pro sports, Lars Nootbar also holds one of the best current hitting streaks in the MLB. He was at it again last night in the Cardinals' 6-4 win over Miami, going 1-3 for the 12th time in 13 games. St. Louis move onto Chicago for the weekend against the Cubs, with Macus Stroman on the bump for the series opener. Nootbar has been effective in past meetings vs. Stroman, batting at a .286 career avg from 14 ABs.

2. Cody Bellinger (CHI) To Record a Hit

Frequency: 19 of last 21
Odds: -200

Not to be outdone, Cubs slugger Cody Bellinger will also be entering the weekend in Chicago bursting with confidence. Bellinger has been absolutely on one over the past three weeks, nothing hits in 19 of his last 21 with 12 of those games ending in two or more hits. Endearing him even more to bettors in this one is the pitching matchup against leftie Steven Matz. Bellinger has been even better against lefties this season, batting at a .346 avg.

3. Chas McCormick (HOU) To Get an RBI

Frequency: 4 of last 4 games
Odds: +195

McCormick is a name familiar with bettors from our Home Run parlay that cashed yesterday, and we think he's due for another big night out today. The in-form man has homered in three of his last four games but can also drive in runs even if he's not jacking them. He has hits in 12 of his last 14 and looks set to make another impact against the struggling Athletics.

Remember to gamble responsibly and set limits on your betting activities. It's important to approach sports betting as a form of entertainment, rather than relying on it for financial gain. Set a budget for yourself and stick to it, and never bet more than you can afford to lose. If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, crisis counseling and referral services can be accessed by calling 1-800-GAMBLER.
