Top MLB Betting Trends for Wednesday, August 31
1. Austin Riley (ATL) To Record a Hit
Frequency: 12 of last 16 games
Odds: -225
Braves third-baseman Austin Riley is raking in August, hitting .284 with 33 total hits and he's currently riding a three-game multi-hit streak. He'll face the Dodgers' Lance Lynn, who has been much better since joining Los Angeles at the trade deadline. Riley hits .276 off right-handed pitchers with most of his power coming off of them as well (22 of 31 homers off RHP).
2. Mookie Betts (LAD) To Record a Hit
Frequency: 17 of last 18 games
Odds: -175
Yes, another trends article, another Mookie Betts prop. It's not our fault the guy can't miss, but he simply can't. He has more multi-hit games this month than games with one or no hits combined. He has *49* total hits in August, hitting an otherworldy .454 along the way. He's rocketed himself into the NL MVP conversation right behind Ronald Acuna Jr. Though he'll face the Braves' ace Spencer Strider, Betts is a proven stud at the dish, and in their three plate appearances of history, he picked up a walk and a double. Ride the wave.
3. Marcell Ozuna (ATL) To Record an RBI
Frequency: 8 of last 9 games
Odds: +155
Like we said, this article is going to feature three extremely hot hitters and Marcell Ozuna certainly fits that description. Ozuna has as many games (4) with at least 2 RBI as he does with just one in this span. He's seeing the ball extremely well, picking up five multi-hit games in that span. He's got a hit in 25 of his last 16 games, so even though Lance Lynn allows just a .213 average to righthanded batters, Ozuna should be able to make his fair share of contact tonight. Hitting in the heart of the order, he'll have the opportunity to drive home a run.
