Top MLB Betting Trends for Saturday, August 19

1. Marcus Semien (TEX) To Record a Hit

Frequency: 14 of last 17 games
Odds: -220

Marcus Semien didn't pick up a hit last night, breaking up a six-game hit streak during which he collected nine hits. He's batting .280 this year and even better in August, with a .317 average this month. As mentioned, he went hitless last night and he hasn't had back-to-back games without a hit since July 28-29 and it's something he's done just 10 times all season. He's up against Brewers righthander Freddy Peralta who has allowed 4+ hits in four of his last seven starts.

2. Mitch Garver (TEX) To Record a Hit

Frequency: 14 of last 16 games
Odds: -120

When a guy comes in clutch, it's hard not to go back to the well, especially when the odds are even better the next day. Mitch Garver enters this contest with the Brewers hitting .396 in the month of August and is on a six-game hit streak. He bats .264 off right-handers and Freddy Peralta (RHP) will take the mound for Milwaukee. Garver is in at DH and hitting fifth in the order today.

3. Christian Yelich (MIL) To Record a Hit

Frequency: 15 of last 19 games
Odds: -260

For our last trend, we look at the guy who's picked up 18 hits over 16 games in August, the Brewers' Christian Yelich. If not for one hitless night on Wednesday, he'd be riding a 10-game hit streak with three multi-hit games. the odds are pretty juicy, so if you want to get risky, you can go with 2+ total bases, but he's only done that three times in this span. He has a top-20 average in all of MLB at .289 and he hits .306 off righthanders like Dane Dunning.
