Top MLB Betting Trends for Monday, August 7

1. Cody Bellinger (CHC) To Record a Hit

Frequency: 11 of last 12 games
Odds: -200

Cody Bellinger is having a resurgent season and we're loving every second of it. The former NL MVP had a tough go the last couple of years but is putting it all together this season and is powering the Cubs to a season where they are actually in contention for a playoff spot. He's hitting .326 this year, the fourth-best average in all of MLB and is in the midst of an 8-game hitting streak. He only has four games without a hit dating back to the start of July. He's a no-brainer to start us off.

2. Miguel Cabrera (DET) To Record a Hit

Frequency: 8 of last 10 games
Odds: -180

The final ride of Miguel Cabrera rolls on. The future Hall-of-Famer joined the 3,000-hit club last season and is having himself yet another productive year at the plate. He's hitting .254 this season and is on a little five-game hit streak. After a slow start to the season, he's had a .300 batting average since June. He faces Pablo Lopez who allows a .228 opponent batting average, which is giving us a little edge in the odds.

3. Dansby Swanson (CHC) To Record an RBI

Frequency: 10 of last 15 games
Odds: +155

Dansby Swanson is a rake right now. It's a small sample size, but he's got an OPS of 1.242 so far in the month of August and has picked up at least one RBI in five of his last seven games, including back-to-back nights with a pair. He's also got four home runs in that span. He's up against the Mets' Kodai Senga to start, who's allowed at least one earned run in seven-straight games and he''ll get the Mets' bottom-ten bullpen in regards to ERA.

Remember to gamble responsibly and set limits on your betting activities. It's important to approach sports betting as a form of entertainment, rather than relying on it for financial gain. Set a budget for yourself and stick to it, and never bet more than you can afford to lose. If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, crisis counseling and referral services can be accessed by calling 1-800-GAMBLER.
