Top MLB Betting Trends for Monday, August 28
1. Zach McKinstry (DET) To Record a Hit
Frequency: 10 of last 13 games
Odds: -280
Our trends parlay is all centered around one great matchup tonight - the Detroit Tigers facing off against the Yankees' Luis Severino. Severino has been getting shelled pretty much all season long, and the Tigers will have their chance to tee off on Monday night. First up is Zach McKinstry, who has quietly been one of the hottest hitters in baseball over the last month. Detroit's leadoff hitter will have plenty of chances tonight, and we love him to get on base early and often, as he has done in 10 of his last 13 games.
2. Riley Greene (DET) To Record an RBI
Frequency: 6 of last 17 games
Odds: +190
Next up we move to Riley Greene, who should be the biggest beneficiary of McKinstry's production. Greene bats second for Detroit, and if McKinstry is getting on base, Greene is always a threat to drive him in. He's the face of Detroit's emerging young core, and he has the star power to drive one to the gap at a moment's notice. With a matchup like Severino, Greene should have plenty of chances for RBIs.
3. Kerry Carpenter (DET) to Record an RBI
Frequency: 7 of last 11 games
Odds: +150
Last but certainly not least, we turn to the hottest hitter in the Tigers' lineup, and arguable the hottest hitter in the entire league. Kerry Carpenter is on fire - he has driven in a run in seven of his last 11 games, and if you go to our Trends page looking for props, you'll see Carpenter with a bunch of streaks ongoing, including hits, homers and RBIs. Severino has never faced him before, and the advantage goes to the hot hitter here. Add it to our other plays, and we get a +650 trends parlay for the Tigers/Yankees game on Monday night. Go Tigers!
