Find out why definitely pays to have more than one funded US Sportsbook account when betting on sports.
For example, did you know that new users at PointsBet can score a jersey of their choice from Fanatics with their first $50 bet? That's easily one of the best promos to take advantage of when betting on football this season, and you get to rep your team's gear afterwards.
Top MLB Betting Trends for Friday, September 1
1. DJ Stewart (NYM) To Record a Hit
Frequency: 8 of last 10 games
Odds: -115
There's nothing better than betting on a feel-good story and if you've been betting on DJ Stewart lately, then your bankroll is likely looking beefy. As the Orioles went younger, they opted to move on from the 29-year-old outfielder, who made his debut with the Mets in mid-July. Since joining the Mets organization, he's clubbed 10 home runs in his first 36 games. His previous season-high was 12 in 100 games back in 2021. He's just hit .303 in August and is on a little four-game hit streak, and even has a hit in 10 of his last 13.
2. Mookie Betts (LAD) To Record a Hit
Frequency: 18 of last 19 games
Odds: -270
Mookie Betts again? Yeah, Mookie Betts again. We'll stop betting on him when he stops cashing every damn day. Betts and Acuna went toe-to-toe last night as both teams look to stake their claim as the best in baseball and it was absolute fireworks. Betts smacked two home runs in that game like it was nothing. He had two, just two games in all of August without a hit. His talent is otherworldly and he very well may be from another planet. Either way, we're betting our Earth dollars on him yet again.
3. Luis Rengifo (LAA) To Record an RBI
Frequency: 7 of last 8 games
Odds: +215
When you're hot, you're hot and Luis Rengifo is steaming. He's hitting like a beast, riasing his average from .230 to .257 in August and has picked up an RBI in five straight games. That's pretty impressive when you consider in those five games, he hit 1st twice, 2nd twice and fifth one time. He gets shuffled around the lineup but consistently uses that to his advantage. He's a switch-hitter but favors lefties and the A's send left-hander J.P. Sears and his 0.799 opponent OPS and 4.80 ERA to the mound. Let's back Rengifo to make it six straight.
