Top MLB Betting Trends for Friday, August 4
1. Kyle Tucker (HOU) To Record a Hit
Frequency: 17 of last 19 games
Odds: -260
Kyle Tucker homered for the first time in eight games last night against the Yankees in what might very well be a sign of what's to come in New York this weekend. Despite the somewhat barren dinger run for the Astros slugger, Tucker has still been counted on to get on base, doing so in 17 of his last 19 games.
Trying to stop Tucker will be Yankees starter Luis Severino. The right-hander has been pretty ordinary this season, and was downright awful in his last start, allowing 9ER in just 3.1IP against the Orioles on Sunday night.
2. Maikel Garcia (KC) To Record an RBI
Frequency: 4 of last 5 games
Odds: +260
Maikel Garcia is - to borrow a phrase - a wagon. The Royals hitter drove in yet another run against the Mets yesterday, the fourth time that's happened in the last five games. He now has a hit in 12 of his last 13 games and will go into tonight's series opener against the Phillies bursting with confidence against starter Aaron Nola who has shown a tendency lately to get a little loose, coming off allowing 5ER in his last start against the Pirates on July 29. The value here on Garcia is difficult to pass up, so head on over to our Best US Sportsbooks and Betting Sites section and claim an awesome Welcome Offer.
3. C.J. Cron (LAA) To Record a Hit
Frequency: 13 of last 13 games
Odds: -185
The Halos found a new way to lose last night, giving up a Grand Slam to the Mariners at the top of the 9th after leading. While the disappointment continues in Los Angeles, one of their new trade deadline acquisitions continues to thrive. C.J. Cron, who was extremely good in Colorado, has been extremely good in Anaheim, notching a hit in each of his four games in red, extending now to 13 straight games overall.
