Three Bets to Make on the MLB All-Star Game

The MLB All-Star Game is here! After an electric performance from multiple sluggers at last night's Home Run Derby, we're ready to win some bets on the All-Star Game on Tuesday night. While there is rarely great data available to bettors for this game, thre are certainly some trends to take note of. These are our three favorite plays if you're going to bet on the MLB All-Star Game.

RELATED: Five MLB Props We Should Be Allowed to Bet On

1. Under 7.5 Runs (-120)

We get it, this one sounds a bit scary knowing the best hitters in the entire sport will be representing both sides in this game. But don't forget - the same is true for pitchers. This is a nod to the old adage of "defense wins championships". More often than not, the best pitchers dominate the best hitters in a format like this. To that point, U7.5 runs has occurred in 10 of last 14 MLB All-Star Games.  Most pitchers in this game will only get one inning to show what they are capable of, and we expect them to be at their best tonight across the board. -120 seems like great value.

2. Race to 5 Runs: Neither (+125)

To the point of the first bet here, if this game goes Under, we love the plus-money chances of neither team to score five runs. While looking at the recent trends in this game, it's important to note that both teams scored less than five runs in four of the last six All-Star Games. Even more impressive, in 15 of the last 16 All-Star Games, at least one team has scored less than five runs. Given those historical performances, +125 is phenomenal value here for bettors. Go Unders!

3. American League Moneyline (-110)

Nine straight wins. That's really all we have to say here, but we can elaborate as well. The American League has not lost this game since 2012. Going back even further, the American League has lost the All Star Game just six times in the last 34 years. The players and coaches have changed year over year, but there is some sort of curse that seems to point toward the AL winning year in and year out. This game will be played in Seattle, where the crowd will be rooting for the American League as well. That's enough for us to sprinkle...responsibly of course.

Remember to gamble responsibly and set limits on your betting activities. It's important to approach sports betting as a form of entertainment, rather than relying on it for financial gain. Set a budget for yourself and stick to it, and never bet more than you can afford to lose.
