The Sharps' Side – Our Experts' 2021 Masters Tournament Picks

It's early April, the sun is starting to shine and it's time for the PGA Tour to head to Augusta for golf's greatest tournament, The Masters.

Ranging from the winner of the 2021 Masters to nationality props and whether we will see a hole-in-one, our sharps have you covered for the biggest and best betting week in golf!

🏆 Top pick

Granj - Tail & Print Podcast

Jon Rahm (+1200). He has been my guy for the '21 Masters since DJ slipped on the green jacket last November and I am not jumping ship now, even if his wife is expecting the birth of their first child any day. Of all the favorites, I find his price to offer the most value - he has been a world class top 3 player for some time now, and a major is a matter of when and not if. It is also hard to keep him out of the winner's circle for too long, and currently he is overdue when looking at his career win rate. Back Rahmbo with confidence this week.

Finn - Tail & Print Podcast

Jordan Spieth (+1100). This one is a no brainer if you have ever listened to the podcast, I’m sticking with my mans Jordan Spieth. To quote every college girl that’s ever been dumped, “If you can’t handle me at my worst, you don’t deserve me at my best.”  Those words couldn’t ring truer for me, because unlike all these traitorous Benedict Arnold jabroni’s who were no where to be found when Jordan was at his worst and jumped ship to JT or DJ are god forbid Bryson and are now all of a sudden back on the band wagon guess what? I. Never. Left!! So enjoy your 14/1 odds. Us real Spieth fans are locked in at 60/1 since we placed our bets months ago knowing this man can do special things at this place.

Bryson DeChambeau (+1100). Similarly to Granj with his Rahm pick, I've been on Bryson ever since last November's Masters. Bryson struggled at Augusta five months ago after talking a big game in the lead up, but as we said in our 2021 golf majors preview, he's going to find it there one day and romp the field. I can see a lot of the top chances winning this week, but when picking one, I'm sticking with the big golfer at +1100.

💰 Value bet

Granj - Tail & Print Podcast

Viktor Hovland (+2700). This will be his first Augusta start as a pro, but do not expect the bright lights to hinder Viktor Hovland. His long, accurate driving accompanied with his pinpoint iron play is tailor made to compete at Augusta. Add in the fact his has improved leaps and bounds in terms of his short game, and Hovland is the young gun I want my money on this week.

Finn - Tail & Print Podcast

Daniel Berger (+3300). I have a feeling he may be playing with a little bit of a chip on should after getting snubbed from the November Masters.

Ryan Leaver - Staff Writer

Xander Schauffele (+2200). Xander is one of the most talented golfers on the planet without a major victory and at +2200, he's my favorite value play this year. He can take confidence into the tournament after finishing T2 back in 2019 behind Tiger and the fact that two of his four PGA victories have come at big tournaments in the Sentry TOC and TOUR Championship.

🔮 Dark horse

Granj - Tail & Print Podcast

Kevin Na (+18000). A quiet T13 here in November was the start of an upswing in Kevin Na's game that eventually led to him taking down the Sony Open in January. While not boasting a resume with quality major championship results, Na is battle tested and would not find himself the least bit scared should he be in contention on the weekend. The ever owner of a hot putter, this price is about double what it should be on Na this go around.

Finn - Tail & Print Podcast

Matthew Wolff (+10000). This was is a BIG if bet. Because IF Wolff is healthy this could be a steal. And if I’m taking someone who has massive odds I also want the person with the biggest upside, and Wolff has the talent to win. If healthy.

Ryan Leaver - Staff Writer

Marc Leishman (+15000). I've picked Leish as a long shot a couple of times so far in 2021, with split results (T4 at Sony Open and CUT at AP Invitational). At a course he loves, this odds are simply too good to pass up on.

Top European

Granj - Tail & Print Podcast

Jon Rahm (+350). See above!

Finn - Tail & Print Podcast

Rory McIlroy (+550). He quietly finished T5 here in November. Plus it’s been a while since we’ve seen Rory in the winners circle. And I don’t think it would be right for Rory to have won the masters as many times as I have when it’s all send and done.

Ryan Leaver - Staff Writer

Jon Rahm (+350). Rahm is the safe bet here but if you're looking for some more value, Francesco Molinari (+3300) looks like a good play!

💪 Top Asian

Granj - Tail & Print Podcast

Si Woo Kim (+400). Sungjae Im with be the popular pick for this prop thanks in part to his T2 finish in November's Masters, but I will take Si Woo Kim for Top Asian as he has been in great form the past 3-4 months.

Finn - Tail & Print Podcast

Sungjae Im (+138). If you even consider picking anyone else I’ll slap you silly.

Ryan Leaver - Staff Writer

Si Woo Kim (+400). As a big Sungjae fan, this is hard to do but I can't ignore the combination of form and odds when it comes to 25-year-old Si Woo Kim.

🇦🇺 Top Australian

Granj - Tail & Print Podcast

Adam Scott (+335). The 2013 Masters winner is always around for the weekend here, and I like him better than the rest of the Aussie contingent.

Finn - Tail & Print Podcast

Cameron Smith (+200). God I love that mullet. Would look glorious in that green jacket.

Ryan Leaver - Staff Writer

Marc Leishman (+550). One of the most even 'nationality prop' fields out there, my go here is to look for value. Any four of Leish, Scott, Day or Smith could take this out, but I've just got a feeling Marc Leishman goes on a big run this week at one of his favorite courses in the world.

Will there be a hole-in-one?

Granj - Tail & Print Podcast

Absolutely! Put me down for two on the 16th alone as the committee at Augusta always offers up funnel pin locations on both Thursday and Sunday every year.

Finn - Tail & Print Podcast

Yes. I have seen Granj lose on this bet enough times to know that someone at some point will get an ace. If I had to pick a hole I’d say 16, always seem to have a Sunday ace there. Also cool video, Rahmbo skipped one across the water and hit an ace during the practice rounds.

Ryan Leaver - Staff Writer

Yes. There's not much fun in picking no for this one! I reckon we'll see exactly one hole-in-one and I'll call it being early on the first day.

🏌️ Winning score to par

Granj - Tail & Print Podcast

-15. A -15 winning score seems right, I don't expect another blitzkrieg of the course that led to DJ's -20 due to cooler weather that held the greens much more than normal Masters editions.

Finn - Tail & Print Podcast

-14. Usually around this area for winning score and I miss football so I’ll go with a winning score of 2 TD’s.

Ryan Leaver - Staff Writer

-12. Obviously need a bit of luck to get this right. I feel they may try and make the course more difficult this week and DJ absolutely dominated it back in November.
