Tennis Betting Predictions and Odds for 2022 Wimbledon Men's Draw
We take a look at who, if anyone, can topple the 'Big 2' of Djokovic and Nadal, in the absence of Roger Federer. Wimbledon 2022 is unique to years previous for a couple of notable reasons.
- There are no rankings points associated with the tournament - wins or losses attribute nothing to the ranking points for a player on tour.
- There are no Russian or Belarusian players allowed, hence the decision to not count Wimbledon results toward world ranking.
The ban on Russians, as a consequence of their nation's invasion of Ukraine, removes a great grass court player in Daniil Medvedev.

Another great grass court player, Alexander Zverev, of Germany, is out after suffering a brutal ankle injury in Roland Garros.
Keep the rankings points omission in mind when betting round by round. While it is crazy to us normal folk to think that a tennis player would not give it his best at Wimbledon, some of these professionals will have a problem not treating matches in more of an exhibition manner with it not affecting their world ranking.
With that said, Dimers.com tennis expert Jeff Reynolds breaks down the draw for the 2022 Lawn Court Tennis Championships at Wimbledon which start Monday in London.

2022 Wimbledon Best Bets
Best Wimbledon Betting Picks
No one in the top half of of the draw has the consistent game to challenge Novak Djokovic (-130) in a best of 5 format. A third-round matchup with compatriot Miomir Kecmanovic might test Djokovic mental ability early, but it is hard to imagine him losing a best-of-5 match.
A quarterfinal match against Jannik Sinner could test the fitness level of 'The Djoker' but I have my doubts in Sinner’s health to get him that far. Sinner had to retire at Roland Garros due to injury.
Pablo Carreno Busta can make a deep run to potentially challenge Djokovic in the semifinals. Regarded a top-tier player in terms of consistency, his serve is not big enough to let him to win that many matches on grass.
Wimbledon Bets to Avoid
Carlos Alcaraz (+1200) hasn’t shown an ability to put it together on this surface. He lost both his grass court matches this season – both 2 sets to 0. Name recognition is why his champion odds are that great.
I would not expect to see Rafael Nadal come out of this half of the draw. The grass surface neutralizes the spin he usually puts on his forehand. Back in his most athletic days, he could negotiate a run of wins on this surface but to see him go deep like that at his age is a big ask.
“Crazy” Nick Kyrgios, of Australia, has the complete grass game to win this half of the draw – powerful serve, power forehand, athleticism. However, to trust his mental game to string together a bunch of wins is a risky wager in itself – he is his own worst enemy.
Auger-Aliassime is talented, for sure, but I do not like the draw matchups he would have to go through.
His first-round match – against a serve and volley player in Maxime Cressy – offers a difficult challenge. His third-round projection would align him in a matchup against Stefanos Tsitsipas.
Speaking of Tsitsipas, it is tough to trust him to make a run given his backhand does not produce many winners.
I like Mateo Berrettini and Marin Cilic to meet each other in the semifinals on the bottom half of the draw. Both players offer big, powerful serves with the +1 combo forehand to back it up. Both players are in good form. The way Cilic played at Roland Garros should lend confidence given that clay is not his best surface.

Best Wimbledon Dark Horse Bets
The best bet to meet Djokovic in the final match of the top half of the draw is Hubert Hurkacz (+1200) and, if he can get past the Serb there, could make a huge run towards the title. His big serve and powerful forehand give him multiple serve +1 combos to win points on grass in a hurry.
He comes into the tournament in great form winning his last 5 matches on grass against formidable opponents (Medvedev, Nick Kyrgios, Felix Auger-Aliassime).
Oh and by the way, he beat Roger Federer 3 sets to 0 at last year's Wimbledon.
This bottom section of the draw is much more competitive and there are a few top suitors to reach the finals.
Mateo Berrettini (+600), Rafael Nadal (+800), Felix Auger-Aliassime (+1700), Nick Kyrgios (+2000), Marin Cilic (+2500), and Stefanos Tsitsipas (+3500) represent the 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th best odds, respectively.
Taylor Fritz (+8000) is playing some good tennis as he is coming off a grass title in Nottingham.
However, Fritz just played a lot of tennis in that run and I doubt he’s had the recovery time – both physically and mentally – to make a deep run at Wimbledon.
Between this trophy (at the Halle Open) and the Queen's trophy retained today by Mateo Berrettini, I don't know which has more weight and in terms of size😁. Congratulations to Hurkacz! Outclassing Medvedev in straight sets is a feat. https://t.co/jJrwqpxEg9

Pick for Men's 2022 Wimbledon Champion
Novak Djokovic (-125). This is not a sexy pick, but you we're not trying to be sexy here — we're trying to win money. Novak Djokovic is the way to do that even if the odds aren't all that alluring. It would take a special day to say the least, with an effort from his opponent as special as that to take him down in a best of 5 set format.
You can always hedge as the tournament draws on.
Tennis Betting Tip
Take the over 8.5 games played in a set. Parlay 2 or 3 of them and you get a great return payout for something that is almost a given to happen.
