It’s Super Bowl week and excitement is at fever pitch as we get ready to see either the Bengals or Rams take home the Lombardi trophy. SoFi Stadium will also be the stage where a new Super Bowl MVP will be crowned, and given how you think the game script may evolve on Sunday, there are several options on the board.

Super Bowl LVI MVP Best Bets

Scenario 1: The Favorites Win

The Rams are favorited by just over a field goal against the barnstorming Bengals with the sportsbooks this Sunday - so what happens if it ends up going the way of the Rams? Matt Stafford has been the ever-calming presence in Los Angeles ever since he was traded for Jared Goff in the off-season. He has finally landed on a good team and he’s propelled them to lofty heights and he holds the key to igniting the likes of Cooper Kupp and Odell Beckham Jr. A lot of the value hunter bettors will be looking to either of those two wide receivers as an alternative to taking Stafford as the MVP, but let’s face it: everything goes through the former Lion and the narrative looms large as the good QB who was on the bad team that gets his moment.

BET: Matt Stafford (+120) 2 betting units suggested

Scenario 2: The Bengals Shock

Given the +4 line, it might not seem like a surprise that Cincinnati can pull it off on Sunday right now, but six months ago that seemed like a complete and utter impossibility. After a cruel ACL injury curtailed his rookie season last year, Joe Burrow has bounced back and emerged as the man of the playoffs. He looks the part, he acts the part. If he can survive the lack of support from his offensive line, Joey B is bringing the MVP home.

BET: Joe Burrow (+230) 1 betting unit suggested

Scenario 3: Aaron Donald Might Actually Kill Joe Burrow

The immediate thought I had in the aftermath of Championship Sunday once the two Super Bowl combatants had been locked in was “There is a legitimate chance that Aaron Donald decapitates Joe Burrow”. It’s really kind of unfathomable that the Bengals have gotten this far given how limited their O-Line has been in protecting their franchise man, going only one game this entire year without having the opposition record a sack. That is music to the ears of the most feared defensive tackle in the league in Aaron Donald. Donald has been a monster in the NFL for a number of years now and will see this as a chance to intimidate the inexperienced Bengals. If Burrow gets sacked nine times like he did against the Titans in the Divisional Round and the Rams win, Donald might be the one we’re all talking about.

BET: Aaron Donald (+1600) .25 betting units suggested
