SlapFIGHT Championship: Betting Preview For The Massive December 3, 2022 Event
SlapFIGHT Championship is sweeping the nation and that means we're taking a look at it for those that want to bet on it. We're starting with the event on Saturday, December 3, which features Neanderthal facing The Hulk in a Super Heavyweight fight.
If you aren't too familiar with this sport, just know that you will be soon. Videos of some of the haymakers thrown by these competitors have been blowing up all over Twitter and TikTok and the sport is only going to get bigger. But for those that aren't sure what this is, we filled you in on everything you need to know about SlapFIGHT Championship earlier in the week. Now, we're getting into a breakdown of the loaded Saturday card.
SlapFIGHT Championship (Dec. 3) Betting Preview
Biggest Fights
MAIN EVENT (HEAVY HITTERS): Neanderthal (-120) vs. The Hulk (-110) - Super Heavyweight (O/U 9.5 Rounds)
In what is the most anticipated fight of the night, we get to see two of the biggest and best sluggers in the business going at it when Neanderthal (325 pounds) faces The Hulk (300 pounds). Neanderthal is fighting for only the second time in his SlapFIGHT career, but he demolished his opponent his last time out.
"Man, I hope I don't lose this coin toss. His hands, they are like frying pans. I could get knocked out early on," his opponent said before that one.
With that said, it makes quite a bit of sense to take the Under on the total. One of these two seems poised to deal a knockout blow to the other, so why even bother guessing which one it will be?
MAIN EVENT (NEW ERA): Monkey Wrench (-135) vs. Bayou Bastard (+100) - Middleweight (O/U 9.5 Rounds)
This is one of the more evenly-matched fights on the entire card, and the odds show it. It's also a somewhat interesting clash in styles. Each of Bayou Bastard's last six fights have gone the distance, while just two of Monkey Wrench's last four fights have done that.
Monkey Wrench has had two KOs in his last four fights, with both coming in the seventh round. With that in mind, he has a bit more power than Bayou Bastard, who will just be hoping to win in a judge's decision. But with Monkey Wrench having the ability to inflict more punishment on his opponent, it's hard not to like him as a small favorite.
CO-MAIN EVENT (NEW ERA): The Demon (+155) vs. Rocky (-195) - Light Heavyweight (O/U 7.5 Rounds)
Rocky finds himself coming off a win over Bayou Bastard in his last fight, which was a really impressive showing for the light heavyweight. Now, he'll look to defeat The Demon, who is fighting for only the second time in SlapFIGHT.
This a match in which you might want to take the Over, as new fighters tend to be a bit tougher than regulars. These guys are fighting for their futures in the sport, so they simply need to absorb the biggest of blows in order to make sure they're invited back for future events. So, even if The Demon doesn't end up winning this fight, we envision him at least lasting a decent amount of time.
FEATURED FIGHT (NEW ERA): Slim Reaper (+130) vs. Biscuit (-160) - Middleweight (O/U 9.5 Rounds)
Slim Reaper is coming off an awesome performance in his last fight, as his opponent withdrew after two technical knockdowns in a row in the second and third rounds. That fight showed how dangerous Slim Reaper can be, but Biscuit is no slouch. He went to a decision against Monkey Wrench in his last fight and Monkey Wrench has knocked out two of his previous four opponents. Biscuit has actually never been knocked out before.
This is a fight in which we see Slim Reaper coming out on top. He is just a fighter that could become a SlapFIGHT Championship staple in the near future, as not many of these guys have the power to deliver two blows like he did in his last fight. It would, however, be somewhat surprising if this didn't go the distance. That means the Over is also a solid play.
Exciting Non-Featured Matchup
The Crippler (+130) vs. Raven (-165) - Lightweight (O/U 9.5 Rounds)
We're not diving into all of the fights on the New Era Card, but we did feel the need to shine a little light on this one. The Crippler made his SlapFIGHT debut against The Cannon in his last fight and he displayed some otherworldly toughness in absorbing some absurd strikes there. Now, he gets to face an opponent that is lighter and less powerful.
We're looking forward to seeing how The Crippler responds to the difference in opponent here. He did have some trouble delivering his own slaps against The Cannon, but will he turn it around and do a bit better against Raven? We're a bit skeptical. While The Crippler seems poised to be a great long-term SlapFIGHT performer, we'd give a slight edge to Raven here. We also like the Over in a fight between two guys with high pain tolerance.
