Should've Bet That: Looking Back at Week 3 Bets You May Have Missed
We look back through the bets that you might have missed from NFL Week 3 to determine whether they're a sign of things to come, or only a fluke. The team on the Dimers show 'Should've Bet That' also dissects a week in which we rue a number of 'what might have been?' moments.
If you’re looking to bet on the NFL, then you should consider signing up with FanDuel Sportsbook ➡️ here ⬅️ as you can make a risk-free bet of up to $1,000. You know you’ll be on the couch watching the games anyway, so why not make a big play using house money for this weekend's football games?

The Bet: THE “SUPER ALT-SPREAD DOUBLE UP”
The first bet this week is a betting method that we’ve been keeping an eye on throughout the opening three weeks of the NFL season. Twitter user @mikeroccovioli began with a $20 bankroll, taking underdogs at the maximum alternative spread possible and parlayed them at combined odds of around +100 through each week of the season so far, rolling over the winnings each time.
Last weekend, his 13-leg parlay hit, taking his bankroll up to $160. Impressive stuff — but is his run destined to end soon?
The Bet: Jalen Hurts to win MVP
The Eagles are 3-0 and are the talk of the town as potential dark horses for this year’s Super Bowl, led by the rampaging form of quarterback Jalen Hurts. Hurts was +2500 before the beginning of the season to win the MVP and he is now third-favorite at +600 with FanDuel Sportsbook, with only Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson ahead of him.
I'm buying the Eagles but +600 seems like a steep price to pay for Hurts' MVP chances, especially compared to where they were a week ago. Until Allen and Jackson disappear, Hurts is still a clear third in the pecking order for this award.
The Bet: Detroit Lions ATS
Believe it or not, the Lions are one of the most reliable teams at the spread so far this season, covering the first three games of the year for the first time since 1992. They probably should have beaten the Vikings outright on Sunday, but this team does seem like it's turning a corner under Dan Campbell.
Detroit will host the Seahawks on Sunday, currently as 5.5-point favorites. It seems reasonable that the surging Lions can move to 4-0 ATS in a bounce-back spot against a Seattle team that is mediocre at best.
