Seattle Seahawks 2022 Win Total Prediction, Computer Picks and Super Bowl Odds

The 2022 NFL season is firmly on the horizon and over the coming weeks the Dimers crew will break down the chances of each and every team, all vying for Super Bowl 57 glory in Glendale, Arizona come February.

Let's take a look at the key factors to consider when betting on the Seattle Seahawks in 2022.

After a few years of speculation, the Seahawks pulled the trigger and traded franchise quarterback Russell Wilson. They got a massive haul from Denver that included a pair of first-round draft picks and two second-round picks, plus players who may (tight end Noah Fant) or may not (QB Drew Lock) help. What good that will do them this season remains to be seen.

Seattle Seahawks Win Total - 5.5

Head coach Pete Carroll can try to sugarcoat the loss of Russell Wilson all he wants, but a quarterback room of Drew Lock, Geno Smith and Jacob Eason isn’t scaring anyone. Smith was decent in relief when Wilson (25 touchdowns, six interceptions) was banged up last season, throwing for five scores with only one interception. But Smith has a career TD-to-INT ratio of 34 to 37. Lock isn’t much better at 25 to 20, and also has 13 fumbles in 24 career games.

Seattle had been kicking the tires on acquiring Baker Mayfield, who was eventually traded to the Carolina Panthers, but the Seahawks are rolling with Smith to start the year. It's not an inspiring move, but it's the best decision they can make based on who is on the roster.

In addition to its passing offense, Seattle desperately needs to fix its pass defense which ranked dead last in the league at 280.4 yards per game allowed. It is, however, worth noting that it doesn't take much to win six games, and Carroll isn't the type of coach to lean into taking whatsoever. With that said, he'll make sure his guys are competing.

DimersBOT: In our model's 10,000 simulations of the upcoming NFL season, the Seahawks averaged 6.17 wins per year. That makes the Over a pretty solid play, even if this team is probably better off losing games.

Seattle Seahawks X-Factor - D.K. Metcalf, WR

The Seahawks were adamant about the fact that they weren't going to deal Metcalf and they held up their end of the bargain and ultimately gave him a contract extension. Now, it's going to be up to Metcalf to prove that he can still be a star receiver without Wilson around.

Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl 57 Chances

Keep your cash in your pocket. What a difference a year makes. The Seahawks are one of the biggest long shots on the board to win the Super Bowl and favorites to finish in the NFC West basement for a second straight year.

DimersBOT: If our BOT could talk then it would also tell you to save your money. The rebuild is just beginning
