Players Who’ve Gone Under Their NBA Points Prop Total the Most in 2022/23

As one of the largest sports betting operators in the country, DraftKings Sportsbook has a healthy offering of NBA player props each night, including betting markets on select players to either go over or under a fixed points tally for the game.

Bettors are brought together by their pursuit of getting the over or under right, including Dimers.com, who can help you find a winning play via our NBA player prop predictions, as well as our NBA Trends page, which lists all of the major recent betting trends for players.

However, despite all of our efforts, sometimes it feels like the same guys screw it up, eventually finding their way onto bettors’ ‘Banned List’

But which players are actually the worst? At the request of Dimers, DraftKings Sportsbook has revealed which players have failed time and time again so far this season, consistently hitting the Under on their player props line.

Headlining the list at No. 1 is Grizzlies guard Dillon Brooks. Brooks has been in the news recently, less for his stellar play and more because of his less than clean tactics and playing style, which included a verbal scuffle with Shannon Sharpe.

SHANNON SHARPE GRIZZLIES

Brooks’ scoring output has plummeted this season, going from a career-high 18.4 points per game last season, to 14.8 PPG in 52 outings this year. That's resulted in 76% of his games going under the points line set by DraftKings.

Following Brooks on the list at No. 2 is Wizards marquee man Kyle Kuzma. Quite stunningly, the forward is actually having his best ever year in terms of points per game, logging an average of 21.4 PPG in 53 games this season. The issue for Kuzma, however, is the polar extremes of his scoring. The former Laker has logged 30+ points in eight games this season, but has failed to hit 20+ points in 20 appearances.

Further down the list, All-Stars Julius Randle, Damian Lillard and Nikola Jokic find their way onto the banned list. While all players can be happy with the years they are putting together - such as Jokic, who is currently -240 favorite with DraftKings Sportsbook to take home his third consecutive MVP - they are also the victims of extremely high expectations, with exorbitant points prop lines set by the sportsbooks.

Top 10 Players Who’ve Gone Under Their Point Total Most 2022/23:

  1. Dillon Brooks
  2. Kyle Kuzma
  3. Anfernee Simons
  4. Jordan Poole
  5. Jonas Valanciunas
  6. Julius Randle
  7. Torrey Craig

  9. Damian Lillard
  10. Nikola Jokic

Players Who’ve Gone Over Their NBA Points Prop Total the Most in 2022/23

So now we know about the guys that disappoint us night after night, but what about the ones who are actually reliable?

Perhaps unsurprisingly, new Knick Jalen Brunson is the man who leads all players in the NBA when it comes to hitting the Over on their points prop in 2022/23. Brunson has had an excellent first half of the year since crossing over from the Dallas Mavericks as a free agent in the off-season, seeing his points per game average skyrocket to 23.9.

Recently acquired Los Angeles Clipper Mason Plumlee is next on the list at No. 2. Plumlee was a dependable force for the Charlotte Hornets before he was dealt to the Clippers at the trade deadline, taking advantage of a favorable points prop line which usually hovered around 12-13.5 points. The Center recorded 25 games with a points total above his yearly average of 12.2 points per game. For those bettors looking to ride Plumlee out for the rest of the year, be careful: through two games in his new home, he has seen his minutes tank from 28.5 MPG with Charlotte, to 17.5 with the contending Clippers.

Elsewhere, Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards continues to excite with a career-best year, rising up to 5th on this list, while Los Angeles Laker Dennis Schroder is one surprising player to make the list at No. 8, coming off the bench to pull through for bettors on a regular basis.
