Rams vs. 49ers Computer Picks, NFL Odds and Betting Lines for Monday, October 3
In a rematch of last year's NFC Championship Game, the San Francisco 49ers will host the Los Angeles Rams at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. It was the Rams that won that game — and eventually went on to win the Super Bowl — last year, and that is surely on the minds of these 49ers players.

Rams vs. 49ers Odds and Betting Lines
The Points Spread (49ers -1.5)
The 49ers are coming off of a pretty rough loss to the Denver Broncos. San Francisco's defense looked great in that game, but the team was unable to get the offense going. It was definitely somewhat disappointing for 49ers nation, as Jimmy Garoppolo had looked great in relief of Trey Lance just a week before. But Garoppolo showed all of his shortcomings in that loss to Denver, reminding San Francisco's fans why the team looked for his replacement in the first place.
The good news for the 49ers is that they now play a Rams team that hasn't looked nearly as sharp as it did last year. While Los Angeles is 2-1 straight-up this season, the team is just 1-2 against the spread. And outside of a game against the Buffalo Bills, the team's schedule hasn't been all that tough either.
MORE: NFL Futures Probabilities
Cooper Kupp still looks like one of the best wideouts in football right now, but he has been the only true bright spot for the Rams offense. Matthew Stafford hasn't looked nearly as polished as he was a year ago, and we suspect he'll have some trouble leading his unit on successful drives against a good 49ers defense.
San Francisco will also be extra fired up with this being a home game in primetime. The 49ers are in a must-win situation right now, as they can't afford to fall to 1-3 on the season. We expect they'll play like a desperate team and get the job done here.
Look for head coach Kyle Shanahan to get the ball to Deebo Samuel with regularity in this one. Samuel hasn't been seeing quite as many touches as a ball carrier as he did last year, as the 49ers don't want to put him in danger of being injured so early in the regular season. But it's actually getting late pretty early for this San Francisco squad, which needs to treat this like a playoff game. So, look for him to get more like eight or nine carries in this game, as opposed to five. The 49ers need him making plays as often as possible here.

Over/Under Points Total (42.5)
The Under has hit in all three of the games the 49ers have played this season, and it's also 2-1 in the games that the Rams have played. Now, San Francisco hosts Los Angeles in a game in which the team knows its defense needs to show up. And the 49ers can't let Garoppolo go out there and throw the ball too much, as that's a recipe for disaster.

San Francisco is going to try to win this game by controlling the time of possession and limiting Los Angeles' big plays in the passing game. Everything about this one screams Under, including the fact that it might be a little chillier and windier than these guys might expect with summer having just ended.
