Raiders vs. Chiefs Odds and Betting Lines

The Points Spread (Chiefs -7.5)

It was crucial for Las Vegas to pick up a win over Denver last week, as the Raiders have invested too much in this squad to be sitting at 0-4 right now. Still, 1-3 is disappointing for Josh McDaniels and Co. Vegas can really use a road win over Kansas City, but that might not be in the cards. We do, however, think the Raiders have a good chance of keeping this within one score.

For as good as Patrick Mahomes is, his offensive line can struggle to protect him and that's not something you want heading into a meeting with a team that has has Maxx Crosby and Chandler Jones getting after the passer. We expect both guys to be in the backfield pretty often in this game, making life on Mahomes difficult. The star quarterback is already trying to adjust to not having Tyreek Hill on his team.

The Raiders also have the ability to keep up with the Chiefs offense. We haven't seen Las Vegas get rolling yet, but Derek Carr is a solid quarterback and he's surrounded by one of the best groups of weapons in the league. Not many teams in football can match the firepower of Davante Adams, Darren Waller and Hunter Renfrow (or Mack Hollins, if Renfrow's concussion keeps him out). The Raiders also have a solid running back in Josh Jacobs, which means this attack can beat defenses in a number of different ways.

Ultimately, the Chiefs should come up with an extra big play or two in this game, but the Raiders keeping pace with them shouldn't shock anybody. Las Vegas is actually 7-5 against the spread as a road underdog over the last three seasons. The team is also 8-6 ATS versus division opponents in that span. Meanwhile, the Chiefs are 10-12 ATS as home favorites in that same timeframe.

Over/Under Points Total (51.5)

This total is a little too high for comfort with these two teams, as the Raiders are coming off a game in which they rushed for 212 yards against the Broncos. Las Vegas won't have the same success on the ground against Kansas City, but the team will surely try to involve Jacobs rather often after riding him to its first victory of the season. That will also serve the purpose of speeding up the game and keeping Mahomes off the field.

The Under also happens to be 3-0-1 in Kansas City's Monday Night Football games over the last three seasons, so the bright lights haven't exactly meant shootouts for Mahomes' squad in recent years. The Under is also 5-1 when Kansas City is coming off a double-digit road win in that time.

Raiders vs. Chiefs Free Picks

Best Bet: Raiders +7.5

The Chiefs are a stronger team than the Raiders, but giving a decent squad more than a touchdown in a division game is a little crazy. We're taking the points and rolling with Vegas.

We strongly suggest taking this with the FanDuel risk-free bet of up to $1,000 offer mentioned at the top of this article because, even if the Raiders don't cover, you'll still have plenty to work with in order to bet more games. You can claim it ➡️ here ⬅️.

If you already use FanDuel, then you absolutely have to claim BetMGM's Bet $10, Get $200 for a touchdown offer ➡️ here ⬅️.
