But when I’m forced to write about how the algorithm thinks my beloved Spurs will lose and recommends betting on it, I will take my chance to gloat when that prediction turns out wrong. Sure, Spurs only managed a point and also went down a goal on two separate occasions, but taking anything at Old Trafford is a big deal, right? Maybe less so these days, but with Romero and Van de Ven back in the lineup I’m optimistic that things are going in the right direction.

As for us gamblers, a two-game sweep from the Czar of soccer picks is also a positive. Not only do I like winning people money, but I find my jokes become much funnier to people when they’re happy with me (like my wife pretending to laugh at my nonsense after I do all the dishes). Brentford vs. Nottingham Forest: Saturday, January 20, 12:30 PM EST

This weekend’s slate is a weird one, with just 4 matches between Saturday and Sunday to make up for some fixtures lost to cup games. But, while lesser cartoons might crumble under the added pressure, this one invites the challenge. The games might not be pretty, but there’s still value to be found and I think we have some in this fairly ugly matchup.

The crucial factor for this game, in my opinion, is the goal averages for Brentford at home. In their 10 home games in the EPL this season the Bees have scored 17 goals and conceded 18, with BTTS having hit in 8 of those. So, while -140 is a bit of extra juice to take (hopefully its grapefruit juice, I love grapefruit juice), I see the true number being closer to -170.

DimersBOT is more inclined to bet the game result and sees some strong value on Brentford ML at home. I think the value there is solid as well, given that the Tree Boys have lost 6 of their 10 EPL away matches this year. Brentford aren’t the same wagon at home as they were last season, but at even money, the play certainly works for me, and having Toney back will help. 2-1 Brentford and everyone walks away happy.

Sheffield United vs. West Ham: Sunday, January 21, 9:00 AM EST

Speaking of awesome games you certainly want to spend 2 hours watching, let's talk Sheffield-West Ham. Unfortunately, West Ham are actually doing well enough right now to merit some conversation, sitting just 6 points off the UCL spots. Saying anything positive about the Hammers is not a pleasant experience for me, but I’ll give them some credit for overperforming after selling Rice.

And, even worse, I think their TT Odds are outrageous. Sheffield sit bottom of the table with 49 goals conceded through 20 matches, but the Hammers are getting +124 on their TT Over 1.5? That just feels like a gift. If you are thinking to yourself right now “but maybe Sheffield have a huge uptick at home,” you would also be wrong. The Blades have conceded 24 goals in 10 home matches and aren't any more likely to keep teams off the board with home turf.

The BOT, trying to outdo me, is taking Over 2.5 for the match at even money. I think it certainly has merit given that I see goals in this game, but Sheffield average less than a goal scored per match which means, in my opinion, that its going to take multiple from West Ham to get over that threshold. With better odds on the Team Total, I think that route makes more sense to me, but if you’re looking for a little extra security from a West Ham red or an odd result, the BOT's play offers that benefit.
