Fulham vs. Liverpool Best Bet
Kickoff: 7:30 am ET
Play: Mohamed Salah to score (+100 at DraftKings)
Liverpool finished second to Man City last season but there’s no shame in that with both teams arguably the best on the planet. It’s always risky to look too much into preseason form but Liverpool destroyed Man City 3-1 in the Community Shield last weekend and looked brilliant.
They open their Premier League campaign against newly promoted Fulham, who wouldn’t have wanted to face Liverpool on the opening day of the Premier League season. There’s one bet which really leaps out here and that’s backing Liverpool’s Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah to score at +100. He played well last weekend and scored against Man City and will be hoping to do even better than the 23 goals he scored in the Premier League last year. You’re getting great odds on Liverpool’s best player scoring against a Fulham team who are one of the weakest in the Premier League.
Leeds vs. Wolves Best Bet
Kickoff: 10:00 am ET
Play: Under 2.5 Goals (-135 at BetMGM)
Leeds vs. Wolves might not be Saturday’s most enticing game but it’s one which stands out from a betting perspective where I’d recommend betting on Under 2.5 goals.
Last season, Wolves had the fifth-best defensive record in the Premier League, conceding just 43 goals, with only the top four doing better. We haven’t seen much transfer activity from Bruno Lage to suggest that he’ll be changing his style of play anytime soon.
Wolves face a Leeds team who look totally different to this time last season. Marcelo Bielsa is gone and the Jesse Marsch reign is fully underway. Marsch kept Leeds up by curbing the attacking style they had under Bielsa and underlining the importance of defense and being structurally sound. I believe this will continue further this season and Leeds won’t be the high-scoring, high-conceding team we’ve seen in the past.
Bournemouth vs. Aston Villa Best Bet
Kickoff: 10:00 am ET
Play: Aston Villa to win (+105 at DraftKings)
New boys Bournemouth are familiar with the Premier League having last been at this level in the 2019/20 season when they got relegated. Unfortunately for them, another tough season awaits them and they are amongst the sportsbook's favorites to be relegated again.
Manager Scott Parker has already complained that his squad isn’t as strong as the one which saw them promoted which will be ringing alarm bells. Bournemouth’s season opener against Aston Villa is a tough start, with Steven Gerrard’s Villa having improved over summer.
By bringing in Diego Carlos from Sevilla it’ll improve their backline which was poor at times last year. Not only that but the addition of Boubacar Kamara could be a masterstroke, with a lot of analytics experts saying that the former Marseille man was amongst Ligue 1’s best players last year.
Villa scored 52 Premier League goals last year and now with the permanent signing of Phillipe Coutinho and a return to fitness for Leon Bailey, there’s a chance that they could really exceed expectations. At +105, they’re a great bet to get a win on the road against Bournemouth.
