It's a relative shock that the last two teams standing in the National League are the Phillies and Padres, but that's what we have as these two get their Championship Series underway in San Diego tonight. So, who has the edge in Game 1? It's hard to look past the Friars and starting pitcher Yu Darvish. So long has been the knock on Darvish that he can't perform in the postseason throughout his career, but he's doing exactly that this year with a 2-0 playoff record, putting up a 3.00 ERA - that comes against the likes of the Dodgers and Mets.

Much will be made of Philadelphia's powerful hitting lineup but Darvish has the advantage, restricting Kyle Schwarber (.167 career avg vs. Darvish) and Bryce Harper (.167) over the course of his career. Rhys Hoskins could be a foil given his impressive history against the Padres ace (.367 avg) and will be one to potentially look out for when it comes to powering the offense for Philly.

Overall this San Diego lineup looks more talented and have the potential to deliver on their home turf to open up the series.
