PGA Tour: PLAYERS Championship 2022 Golf Picks and Betting Odds

The 2021-22 season of golf continues this week with THE PLAYERS Championship on Thursday morning held at the Stadium Course, TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. As with every event on the golf schedule, we've got three outright winner picks, ranging from one of the favorites to some mega value!
After picking Hideki Matsuyama to win the Sony Open already this season, we're feeling good about going again with this week's picks.
So let's look to this week's PLAYERS Championship and three guys that we like to win this week's golf tournament, varying from one of the best chances, who still represents good value, down to some nice plays on a couple of stars that look set for big weeks at longer odds! We also show you the best sportsbook promos to play.
With a host of big names out there, we're set for an awesome four days of golf... and betting in Florida! As we do each and every tournament, we provide you with our best golf picks for outright winner, as well as some in-play picks throughout.
Let's get into our best bets for this week ⬇️
Golf Picks: 2022 THE PLAYERS
Top Pick - Collin Morikawa
THE PLAYERS isn't quite a major, but it's as close as we get outside of the big four, and that means it's a week for a big name to win.
The first of three big names we're taking is 25-year-old Collin Morikawa, who already has two major victories, sitting amongst his five career PGA wins and remarkable just six missed cuts since turning pro.
Morikawa not only has the mettle to win big tournaments like this, but has also been knocking on the door for a victory so far this season, with his results reading like this:
- CJ Cup: 2nd
- ZOZO: T7
- Hero World Challenge: T5
- Sentry TOC: T5
- Genesis: T2
Yep, that's five events for five Top-10 finishes, with two runner-ups.
Morikawa has only played this tournament once (last season), with a T41 finish ending in very nice fashion after he shot a 66 on the final day of play.
Clearly, he was trending in the right direction across the week last time around and will be out to pick up where he left off as play gets going on Thursday.
P.S. His odds are much worse with some books (like FanDuel Sportsbook) so click the link below to properly cash in!
Value Pick - Patrick Cantlay
These odds seem off. Patrick Cantlay has proven himself as one of the most consistent dudes in the game over the last 12 months and should be considered as much of a chance this week as practically anyone.
Cantlay is yet to win a major, but did of course take out the BMW and TOUR Championships at the end of last season, proving he can win in a star-studded field with a lot of money on the line.
Before his T33 at the Genesis, Cantlay had strung together four Top-10 finishes in four starts to kick off the fresh season and should get right up amongst it again at TPC Sawgrass.
+2700 is simply crazy considering Cantlay's form, making him the best value bet of the week.
Dark Horse - Brooks Koepka
A major-like tournament you say? Time for Brooks Koepka to arise.
Brooks has been incredibly up-and-down over the past couple of years, with time on the sidelines and rounds played through injury seeing him slip as long as 20th in the world recently. And he's not happy about it either.
When quizzed on the fall in rankings, Koepka was pretty blunt - "that's embarrassing to be 20th, I feel like."
With major season right around the corner, this is the time of year for Koepka to get it going and with the four-time major winner claiming to be feeling better sooner than he expected, we're more than happy to hitch our ride to him at +4000 this week.
