PGA TOUR Golf Bets: Genesis Scottish Open Head-to-Head Matchup Picks and Parlay

The best golfers in the world are tuning up for next week's major, The Open, and so are we here at Dimers.

We've already broken down our best bets of the weekend, from winners and placements to more. Now it's time to cook up our famous matchups parlay featuring three golfers our model loves in Scotland this weekend.

Betting on winners and who will finish in the Top 5, 10 and 20 markets gets all the attention around golf tournaments, but betting on head-to-head matchups can be an equally lucrative and entertaining experience for golf bettors. For our model's best picks in those markets, check out our full Genesis Scottish Open Predictions, now exclusively part of Dimers Pro.

We have an in-house tool designed for pitting golfers against one another and simulating the results. We can see who will finish higher in their head-to-head matchup, either after Round 1 or over the course of the entire tournament.

With a handy "Fair Odds" to "Percentages" toggle, you can always check to see if there's value in any given matchup. We're switching gears slightly this week and going with 3-ball matchups rather than head-to-head, but we can use our tool just the same!

Also, take advantage of this exclusive bet365 bonus code to unlock up to a $1K bonus at the Genesis Scottish Open.

Leg 1: Xander Schauffele to beat Rory McIlroy (+100)

We'll start with our model's No. 1 pick to win the whole thing, Xander Schauffele over defending champion Rory McIlroy. Rory hasn't played since his brutal loss to LIV nemesis Bryson DeChambeau at the U.S. Open.

For a guy with four solo Top 5s, including a win, this hasn't been Rory's year. Aside from those, he has more finishes outside the Top 20 than he does within.

Meanwhile, Xander is curising. He picked up his first major win of his career at the PGA Championship and has rattled off four Top 10 finishes in his last five events. He's only finished outside T10 five times this year.

He's at 50.4% to beat McIlroy, which gives us fair odds at +100 even money. He won just two years ago and we like him to do it again.

Leg 2: Collin Morikawa to beat Ludvig Aberg (-110)

It's not the first time we've pitted these two golfers against one another this year. Both are supremely talented with the potential to make this one go down to the wire.

Ludvig Aberg is having a breakout year. He's already shown promise with a TOUR win last year, but he's netted 10 Top 25 finishes and six Top 10s this year, including a pair of 2nd place finishes. He missed the cut at the Genesis Scottish Open last year.

Morikawa is also having a great season. After a tumultuous start that still featured three Top 20 finishes, he's now finishes inside the Top 10 in five of his last 9 events, and Top 20 in all but one of those. Morikawa also missed the cut in his lone appearance here back in 2022.

At 54.6% for Morikawa to win this matchup, our fair odds would be -120, so while we're not stealing wild value, we're getting a fair price backed by our model.

Leg 3: Aaron Rai to beat Robert Macintyre (-130)

For our heaviest favorite, we're backing a streaking golfer in form up against the home countryman.

Since his T39 at the PGA Championship, Rai has improved virtually each week, culminating in him contending right up until the end at his last two events, ultimately finishing T2 and T7. He's got 9 Top 25s and 4 Top 10s this year, due to his 5th overall ranking in Strokes Gained.

Macintyre is playing on his home turf, and has had his fair share of success this year, though it's intertwined with a litany of missed cuts, nine of them to be exact, up against his six Top 25 finishes. He's not nearly as impressive in any analytical categories as Rai, so he'll need the intangibles in his favor this week.

We work with raw data here, so we're backing our strong favorite, whose fair odds would be -150 according to the DimersBOT, giving us a 3.7% edge.

Leg 4: Corey Conners to beat Wyndham Clark (-110)

Let's close it with one of our model's best placement bets of the week, Corey Conners. We've got great value in him for a Top 5 finish, and we're backing him here over one of our usual targets, Wyndham Clark.

Now, Clark is Dimers Hall of Famer after winning us an 80-1 outright pick at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am way back in the early season. But lately, he's been volatile. Since that win, he's had as many missed cuts (4) as Top 10 finishes, though he did flirt with victory twice on back-to-back weeks in March. His past five events have been two missed cuts, a T47, T57 and most recently a T9 at the Travelers.

Conners hasn't missed a cut all year. He's not come as close to a win as Clark, but does have two Top 10s in his past four events. We need longevity to win a matchup, as we're unlucky to get there if our guy misses the weekend. At 52.3%, the Canadian is a fair odds play.

Can I bet on golf with Dimers?

No. There’s no golf bet slip on our site because we don’t take any golf bets ourselves. We’re the friend who gives you the best golf picks and predictions then tells you where and how to get the best golf sign up offers at the sportsbooks, so you can throw your golf bets down. That’s it!

When you click on one of our buttons or links in our golf content, you’re whisked away to DraftKings, BetMGM, FanDuel, or one of the many other sportsbooks we work with.

Once you get there, you can join up to score a welcome bonus (up to $200!), and then get those golf bets down for yourself, but you’re betting on the golf with them, not us. Since you are never betting anything directly with us, we don’t have access to your personal information or sensitive financial info like credit card numbers.

It also means that despite our best efforts to confirm that a sports betting site still has that awesome golf sign up offer available, the best ones often disappear just as quickly as they appeared. We always take these offers down once we know they’re no longer available. We take our responsibility to provide up to date golf information very seriously.

Finally, Responsible Gambling is extremely important to us, so please remember that golf betting should be seen as a form of entertainment - adding to your enjoyment while watching from the course of the couch - not a side hustle or second income stream.

Dimers and golf betting

  • Dimers, and online sports betting, are not scams – golf betting has been legal since May 2018.
  • We give you the best golf picks and predictions, and tell you where to find the best sign up offers, but you don’t actually bet on golf with us.
  • We do not collect sportsbook sign up or credit card information.
  • We get a commission if you join a sportsbook through our golf content, buttons or links.
  • We’re always happy to help you troubleshoot any issues. Just ask!

Remember to please gamble responsibly. If you sense that you're taking your luck too far, know when to call it quits and don't be afraid to seek assistance. Keep in mind that gambling is all about having a fantastic experience! If you or someone you know is grappling with gambling issues, reach out to 1-800-GAMBLER for crisis counseling and support.
