THE PLAYERS Championship Betting Preview
TPC Sawgrass is one of the biggest challenges on the tour. Only one player has shot below 16-under in the last decade. Past champions include Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas, among others like Martin Kaymer, Si Woo Kim and Jason Day. Only one golfer has two wins at this tournament in the last 100 years - Tiger Woods, showing how random the results of this tournament can be.
There are 17 holes with water that comes into play, opening the door for even the best in the world to make mistakes that could eliminate themselves from contention. Because of the many challenges Sawgrass offers, the safest bets this week will be some of the best, and most in-form players in the world.

Best Bets to Win THE PLAYERS Championship
There are two golfers that the DimersBOT has flagged with fire emojis as great bets for this weekend.
The first is Scottie Scheffler (+1100). DimersBOT gives Scheffler a 9.8% probability of winning the tournament, nearly in line with the betting favorite, Jon Rahm, but with much better odds. Scheffler has made the cut in all eight of his events played this year, and boasts five Top 10 finishes to his name. It's hard to see Scheffler not giving himself a chance to win on Sunday, and at his best, there's no better player in the sport.
The second is Tony Finau, who our model gives a 5.1% probability to win the tournament. At +3000 odds, Finau jumps off the page as far as value goes, among less probable champions with worse odds like Max Homa (+2000), Xander Schauffele (+2600), and Justin Thomas (+1900). Finau has one win in eight events this season, with three top 10 finishes to his name. He'll look to continue his good form this week, and we like his chances.
