PGA Golf Best Bets: Travelers Championship Winner Picks and Predictions

Time for some golf betting!

The 124th U.S. open was a thrilling event, coming down to the wire and featuring a brutal missed putt by Rory McIlroy, guaranteeing Bryson DeChambeau his second victory at the major. No luck for our winner, pick but we hit on a few bets we shared on our Twitter, as well as Corey Conners Top 20 at +250.

This week, we're betting on the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, CT. We're looking at a 72-player field with no cuts, guaranteeing four rounds of action for everyone involved, barring any withdrawals.

Our predictive analytics model has run 1000s of simulations for the Travelers Championship, identifying value bets in the winner and placement markets. As mentioned, we're heading to TPC River Highlands for this signature event with a $20 million purse up for grabs.

2024 Travelers Championship Best Bets

Scottie Scheffler to Win (+400 on BetMGM)

No one likes to bet on a golf winner at +400, but if you're going to do it then you'd like it to be on the No. 1 golfer in the world and in a smaller field, both of which are the case here. It's also the best price out there.

Scottie Scheffler will be looking to bounce back from a tough U.S. Open course that tested everyone on the links. Things couldn't be more different this week and our model reflects that. Sceffler gets a 27.0% probability to win, unsurprisingly the highest, however we're still getting value, as +400 implies only a 20.0% probability to win.

That makes our fair price for Scottie only +270, showing a difference of +130 for value in that 7.0% edge.

Hideki Matsuyama Top "Rest of World" (+450 on FanDuel)

There's not much value in winners outside of Scheffler so let's look at some different markets, including one similar to a bet that Hideki Matsuyama cashed for us at the U.S. Open.

Last Week saw Matsuyama cashed the Top Asian market at +300. He finished sixth with his closest opponent, Tom Kim, at T26 for a sweat-free play. This week, he's got a 2.9% probability to win, the sixth-highest, and a 47.1% probability to finished Top 20, but he's just +200 to win the Top Asian market.

If we look at the "Rest of World" pool instead, we get more than double the odds at +450, with only Corey Conners mixed in as his closest competition.

Corey Conners Top "Rest of World" (+650 on FanDuel)

For another play in this market, we'll look at the main competition for Hideki Matsuyama, as well as a guy came up clutch at the U.S. Open.

Conners finished just two behind Matsuyama at Pinehurst with an even score for the weekend, but easily landed in the Top 20 with a T9 finish. This week, he's projected with a 42.0% probability to land in the Top 20, with Christian Bezuidenhout (+1200) the closest to him in our model. Conners get s a Top 10 win probability for the whole tournament as well.

Ludvig Aberg & Viktor Hovland Both Top 10 (+521 on DraftKings)

Two of our Top five projected golfers to win it all get no value on their own, but we can put them together in a parlay that's well backed by our model.

Aberg (33.1%) and Hovland (32.6%) round out the Top 5 in our model's projections for the weekend, and have a significant lead over the next golfers to finish in the Top 10.

Hovland had been putting together some momentum with a T24, 3rd and T15 after The Masters before a cut at the U.S. Open, though he bounced back on Day 2 with a strong 68. Aberg played himself out of contention this past weekend but has six Top 10s on the year.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout Ladder Play (+190/+500/+1200 on DraftKings)

The final way we're looking at the Travelers Championship is with a ladder play at South African golfer Christiaan Bezuidenhout.

He's quietly had a solid year that's netted him the 26th-most FedExCup points thus far, managing three Top 10s, including a 4th-palce finish at the Memorial just two weeks ago, and he's managed four other T20 or better finishes this year.

The only other golfer with any clear value in our model, consider a ladder play on Bezuidenhout:

  • Top 5 Finish (+1200)
  • Top 10 Finish (+500)
  • Top 20 Finish (+190)

You can also sprinkle a bit on his odds to (+8000), as even at only a 1.5% probability, our model says he should be just +6500 instead. Not bad for a golfer ranked 13th in total stroked gained this season.

These aren't the only value plays on the board, but our selected ones based on our model's recommendations. With Dimers Pro, you can check out our full predictions for the Travelers Championship to find your favorite plays, with plenty more edges to be found!

Dimers' Expert Golf Picks and Predictions

As well as being your best source for PGA golf predictions, Dimers also has the latest golf news, golf predictionsfor every game, weekly golf rankings, and golf matchup H2H tool.

Can I bet on golf with Dimers?

No. There’s no golf bet slip on our site because we don’t take any golf bets ourselves. We’re the friend who gives you the best golf picks and predictions then tells you where and how to get the best golf sign up offers at the sportsbooks, so you can throw your golf bets down. That’s it!

When you click on one of our buttons or links in our golf content, you’re whisked away to DraftKings, BetMGM, FanDuel, or one of the many other sportsbooks we work with.

Once you get there, you can join up to score a welcome bonus (up to $200!), and then get those golf bets down for yourself, but you’re betting on the golf with them, not us. Since you are never betting anything directly with us, we don’t have access to your personal information or sensitive financial info like credit card numbers.

It also means that despite our best efforts to confirm that a sports betting site still has that awesome golf sign up offer available, the best ones often disappear just as quickly as they appeared. We always take these offers down once we know they’re no longer available. We take our responsibility to provide up to date golf information very seriously.

Finally, Responsible Gambling is extremely important to us, so please remember that golf betting should be seen as a form of entertainment - adding to your enjoyment while watching from the course of the couch - not a side hustle or second income stream.

If Dimers doesn't take golf bets, then how do you make money?

Whenever you join a sportsbook mentioned in our golf picks and predictions across the website, or use one of our promo codes, we get a small commission for referring you. Don’t worry, though, this doesn’t affect you in any way at all. That’s a fee the sportsbook pays us as a thank-you for sending another golf bettor their way.

We’re always happy to help our readers troubleshoot any problems. Start with our About Us or Contact Us and if that doesn’t work for you, then you can always send us an email at contact@dimers.com. We’ll do our best to help you figure it out.

Dimers and golf betting

  • Dimers, and online sports betting, are not scams – golf betting has been legal since May 2018.

  • We do not collect sportsbook sign up or credit card information.
  • We get a commission if you join a sportsbook through our golf content, buttons or links.
  • We’re always happy to help you troubleshoot any issues. Just ask!

Dimers and Responsible Gambling
