PGA Golf Best Bets: John Deere Classic Winner Picks and Predictions

Time for some golf betting!

What a wire-to-wire thriller at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. We had our +2200 pick to win, Akshay Bhatia, in play all weekend long until Cam Davis showed up like the Undertake to AJ Styles and swiped victory from our clutches.

We've cashed a golf bet nearly every week and we're looking to get back on track at the John Deere Classic.

This week, we're heading to TPC Deere Run in Silvis, IL. Even more of the big names are off for this one so we're really digging in to find our best value this weekend.

Our predictive analytics model has run 1000s of simulations for the John Deere Classic, identifying value bets in the winner and placement markets. As mentioned, we're heading to the TPC Deere Run with a $7.8 million purse up for grabs.

The John Deere Classic Golf Betting Preview

TPC Deere Run is a Par 71 that measures 7,289 total yards. For many golfers, this event presents a final chance to qualify for The Open Championship. The most recent winners have been defending champ Sepp Straka, J.T. Poston and Lucas Glover.

Our best bets are here to help with outright winner plays, as well as recommended Top-5, Top-10 and Top-20 picks.

Also, make sure you visit Dimers all golf season long, where we'll be feeding you our trusted PGA best bets on a weekly basis. These PGA predictions are sourced from our powerful predictive analytics model that pulled off some big wins in 2023 and has already returned an 80-1 winner with Wyndham Clark in 2024, correctly predicted Scottie Scheffler's comeback at the RBC Heritage while he was +1000 to win, and cashed a +1075 3-ball parlay at the Memorial.

2024 John Deere Classic Best Bets

Denny McCarthy to Win (+2200 on BetMGM)

Denny McCarthy is talented but has yet to put it all together for that elusive first PGA TOUR win. He's finished as the runner up in a playoff in each of the past two seasons, with 8 Top 10s last year about just a pair of them this season.

His excellent putting (2nd in strokes gained) is offset by his struggles off the tee and on approach, so he'll need to show improvement there to contend through the weekend.

At 5.5% to win, he's getting a little edge with our fair price on him closer to +1600, so you can see about +600 worth of value in his odds at BetMGM.

Andrew Putnam Ladder (+360/+850/+1800/+11000 on FanDuel)

One of the longest odds we've ever played, the value on Putnam simply can't be ignored.

For starters, he's within our Top 20 projected golfers for the whole tournament, yet has odds far beyond the others in that category.

He does get just a 2.0% probability to win, however his odds imply a 0.9% chance. Seems small? It does, but in reality, that's the difference between +11000 and +4900, over double the price!

He's got value throughout his placements too, so rather than highlight those individually, we'll look at a ladder play:

  • To win 2.0% at +11000
  • Top 5 Finish 9.7% at +1800
  • Top 10 Finish  17.4% at +850
  • Top 20 Finish 28.8% at +360

A simple way to bet this ladder would be in increments of $5, or whatever you're comfortable with. For example, you'd bet $5 on Putnam to win, $10 on him to finish top 5 and so on.

Matt Kuchar Top 20 Finish (+450 on BetMGM)

We had an edge on Kuchar last week for a Top 10 finish and he gave us a strong effort - finishing at -10 and a T25.

This time around, he's at 23.5% to finish Top 20 and at odds of +450, we get a little edge of about 5% - fair odds would be at +325.

A 200+ year veteran of the TOUR, Kuchar hasn't had his best year by any means - just a pair of Top 25s to show for it. However, both of those have come in his past five events and he's only been cut once in his past six (9 previous cuts this year).

This slimmed-down field could give him the lane he needs to finish with his best one of the year.

These aren't the only value plays on the board, but our selected ones based on our model's recommendations. With Dimers Pro, you can check out our full predictions for the John Deere Classic to find your favorite plays, with plenty more edges to be found!

Dimers' Expert Golf Picks and Predictions

As well as being your best source for PGA golf predictions, Dimers also has the latest golf news, golf predictions for every game, weekly golf rankings, and golf matchup H2H tool.

Can I bet on golf with Dimers?

No. There’s no golf bet slip on our site because we don’t take any golf bets ourselves. We’re the friend who gives you the best golf picks and predictions then tells you where and how to get the best golf sign up offers at the sportsbooks, so you can throw your golf bets down. That’s it!

When you click on one of our buttons or links in our golf content, you’re whisked away to DraftKings, BetMGM, FanDuel, or one of the many other sportsbooks we work with.

Once you get there, you can join up to score a welcome bonus (up to $200!), and then get those golf bets down for yourself, but you’re betting on the golf with them, not us. Since you are never betting anything directly with us, we don’t have access to your personal information or sensitive financial info like credit card numbers.

It also means that despite our best efforts to confirm that a sports betting site still has that awesome golf sign up offer available, the best ones often disappear just as quickly as they appeared. We always take these offers down once we know they’re no longer available. We take our responsibility to provide up to date golf information very seriously.

Finally, Responsible Gambling is extremely important to us, so please remember that golf betting should be seen as a form of entertainment - adding to your enjoyment while watching from the course of the couch - not a side hustle or second income stream.

Sports Betting Deals Available for July 4th Week, 2024:

If Dimers doesn't take golf bets, then how do you make money?

Whenever you join a sportsbook mentioned in our golf picks and predictions across the website, or use one of our promo codes, we get a small commission for referring you. Don’t worry, though, this doesn’t affect you in any way at all. That’s a fee the sportsbook pays us as a thank-you for sending another golf bettor their way.

We’re always happy to help our readers troubleshoot any problems. Start with our About Us or Contact Us and if that doesn’t work for you, then you can always send us an email at contact@dimers.com. We’ll do our best to help you figure it out.

Dimers and golf betting

  • Dimers, and online sports betting, are not scams – golf betting has been legal since May 2018.
  • We give you the best golf picks and predictions, and tell you where to find the best sign up offers, but you don’t actually bet on golf with us.
  • We do not collect sportsbook sign up or credit card information.
  • We get a commission if you join a sportsbook through our golf content, buttons or links.
  • We’re always happy to help you troubleshoot any issues. Just ask!
