PGA Golf Best Bets: 3M Open Winner Picks and Tournament Predictions

Time for our best golf bets of the week!

We are on FIRE. Fresh off calling a +2500 outright winner with Davis Thompson at the John Deere Classic for his first-ever win, we predicted Xander Schauffele to win his second major at The Open and he delivered. That's yet another outright winner we've called this year.

Following the  major action in Scotland, we're back on U.S. soil for the 3M Open. The Olympic team is prepping for next week's Paris event, while many other top golfers have taken this week off.

Our predictive analytics model has run 1000s of simulations for the 3M Open, identifying value bets in the winner and placement markets. We're heading to TPC Twin cities in Blaine, Minnesota with an $8.3 million purse up for grabs.

2024 3M Open Golf Betting Preview

We're hitting TPC Twin Cities, a par-71 that measures 7,431 yards. This event debuted in 2019 with Lee Hodges the reigning champion and Tony Finau, this year's favorite, the winner in 2022.

Make sure you visit Dimers all golf season long, where we'll be feeding you our trusted PGA best bets on a weekly basis. These PGA predictions are sourced from our powerful predictive analytics model that has returned an 80-1 winner with Wyndham Clark, before correctly predicting Scottie Scheffler's +1000 comeback at the RBC Heritage, and predicted Davis Thompson to win outright at the John Deere Classic at +2500before calling Xander Schauffele's second major win just two weeks later.

Same mood, Xander. Same.

2024 3M Open Best Bets

Billy Horschel to Win (+2800 on BetMGM)

Our model's best value pick to win the 3M Open, Billy Horschel, clocks in at +2800 odds to win and a 5.1% probability according to DimersBOT. That makes our fair odds +1900, identifying significant value on Horschel compared to the books' best price. If you got him as early as lines were up, you could have gotten him at +3000 for even more value.

Eight wins in his career and one in 2024 means Horschel is no stranger to success on the TOUR. Fresh off a T2 at The Open on a difficult course against the best in the world, things could bode well for Horschel this weekend in Minnesota. He's got value throughout his placements markets as well, identifying a potential ladder play.

Keegan Bradley to Win (+3500 on BetMGM)

Bradley flirted with victory after finishing T2 at the Charles Schwab Challenge but he's not quite seeing the success he had last year with a pair of wins and another pair of Top 5s.

His +3500 odds are good for about a 1% edge against our model's 3.8% probability to win. That's slim, but it's the difference between +3500 and approximately +2800.

Ben Griffin to Win (+5000 on BetMGM)

Our next two picks dive further down the board into the longer odds plays for a pair of golfers having similar seasons.

Ben Griffin gets a small 2.3% probability to win the 3M Open, identifying fair odds of +4200 while he's actually +5000 at BetMGM. He's turned in a T5 and a solo 2nd in his past seven events, though he's been cut twice in that span and finished outside the Top 30 in the others.

Mackenzie Hughes to Win (+5500 on FanDuel)

Like Griffin, Canadian Mackenzie Hughes also gets a 2.3% probability to win the 3M Open, but he's priced even further out at +5500 on FanDuel. He's got the same fair odds as Griffin but a slightly better price.

He's got three Top 10s this year and he turned in a very respectable T16 at The Open last weekend. Ranked 8th in SG: Putting, he could be a sneaky play if he can find the greens regularly, which is where he struggles the most.

Matt Kuchar Top 20 (+550 on DraftKings)

We've got two plays in the Top 20 market, both on older veteran golfers who have not had strong seasons.

First up is Matt Kuchar, who's only made seven cuts this year, however five of them have come in his past seven events. He's been off for two weeks and our model predicts the 46-year old with a 19.8% probability to secure a Top 20 finish at TPC Twin Cities, making his fair odds just +400 and giving us a 4.5% edge.

Zach Johnson Top 20 (+750 on DraftKings)

Finally, we have Zach Johnson to collect his third T20 or better this year, both of which came in his back-to-back appearances at the Zurich Classic and THE CJ CUP at the April/May turn.

This weekend, DimersBOT says Johnson has a 16.5% probability of finishing Top 20, with fair odds coming in around +500. That will make a 4.8% edge, one of the best values in the entire tournament.

These aren't necessarily the only value plays on the board, but our selected ones based on our model's recommendations. With Dimers Pro, you can check out our full predictions for the 3M Open to find your favorite plays, with plenty more edges to be found!

Dimers' Expert Golf Picks and Predictions

As well as being your best source for PGA golf predictions, Dimers also has the latest golf news, golf predictions for every game, weekly golf rankings, and golf matchup H2H tool.

Can I bet on golf with Dimers?

No. There’s no golf bet slip on our site because we don’t take any golf bets ourselves. We’re the friend who gives you the best golf picks and predictions then tells you where and how to get the best golf sign up offers at the sportsbooks, so you can throw your golf bets down. That’s it!

When you click on one of our buttons or links in our golf content, you’re whisked away to DraftKings, BetMGM, FanDuel, or one of the many other sportsbooks we work with.

Once you get there, you can join up to score a welcome bonus (up to $200!), and then get those golf bets down for yourself, but you’re betting on the golf with them, not us. Since you are never betting anything directly with us, we don’t have access to your personal information or sensitive financial info like credit card numbers.

It also means that despite our best efforts to confirm that a sports betting site still has that awesome golf sign up offer available, the best ones often disappear just as quickly as they appeared. We always take these offers down once we know they’re no longer available. We take our responsibility to provide up to date golf information very seriously.

Finally, Responsible Gambling is extremely important to us, so please remember that golf betting should be seen as a form of entertainment - adding to your enjoyment while watching from the course of the couch - not a side hustle or second income stream.

If Dimers doesn't take golf bets, then how do you make money?

Whenever you join a sportsbook mentioned in our golf picks and predictions across the website, or use one of our promo codes, we get a small commission for referring you. Don’t worry, though, this doesn’t affect you in any way at all. That’s a fee the sportsbook pays us as a thank-you for sending another golf bettor their way.

We’re always happy to help our readers troubleshoot any problems. Start with our About Us or Contact Us and if that doesn’t work for you, then you can always send us an email at contact@dimers.com. We’ll do our best to help you figure it out.
