Kraken vs. Avalanche Best Bets
Tuesday, April 18, 2023 - 10:00PM ET
The Colorado Avalanche begin their quest for a 2nd straight Stanley Cup as they open their first round playoff series against the Seattle Kraken, at Ball arena, on Tuesday night.
Despite an injury plagued season, which saw many of their main stars miss significant time with injuries, the Avs were able to wrap up the Central Division crown, and needed all 82 games to do so. Colorado has been without their Captain, Gabriel Landeskog this season and it was announced that he will not be returning for the playoffs. Despite that, I see Colorado having a relatively easy time in this series against the 2nd year Seattle Kraken. The Avs finished the regular season with wins in 8 of their last 10 games, averaging 4 goals per game during that time span. The Kraken have had a tough time keeping pucks out of their own net this season. Seattle's team Save Percentage of .886 was 3rd worst in the league this season.
Former Avalanche Phillip Grubauer will likely get the start in Game 1. Grubauer had a .985 Save Percentage this season, along with a 2.85 goals against average. Seattle was able to hold Colorado's offense in check during the regular season as the Avs only scored 6 goals in the 3 meetings. Despite that, I am going to go with the Avs Team Total Over 3.5 in Game 1 as I like the way their offense finished the season. I am also going to add their series spread of -2.5 games at a nice plus money price as I think they will make short work of the Kraken.
Bet Avalanche Team Total Over 3.5 (-113) and Avalanche Series Spread -2.5 (+180) with BetMGM.
