With two regular season games remaining, the New York Islanders look to keep pace in the Eastern Conference Wild Card race as they visit the Capitals tonight in Washington.

New York is battling Pittsburgh and Florida for one of the Wild Card spots. New York currently occupies the second spot, with a one-point lead on the Penguins and is tied, on points, with the Panthers.

New York has won two-in-a-row, coming off home wins of 6-1 against Tampa Bay and 4-0 over Philadelphia. The Isles get a depleted Washington Capitals team tonight who will be without Alex Ovechkin and TJ Oshie.

After losing the first two meetings of the season to Washington, both at home, the Isles responded with a 2-1 shootout win in Washington on March 29th.

The Capitals are in the midst of a six game losing streak and have been outscored 25-11 during that span.
