PARLAY: Martin Necas 2+ SOG, Tomas Tatar 1+ SOG, Ondrej Palat 2+ SOG (+125)
They say desperate times call for desperate measures. And when facing elimination, desperation typically leads to aggression. With that, I'm going to offer up something unique for tonight's Game 5 matchup of the New Jersey Devils and Carolina Hurricanes. With their backs on the proverbial wall, the Devils will be fighting for their playoff lives tonight as they trail the Hurricanes in the series 3 games to 1.
For today's Take, I'm going to take a bit of a different approach with this one, and focus on shot on goal props. Knowing that there is certainly a chance that the Canes can jump out to a lead, the Devils are going to have to score to compete... and you can't score if you don't shoot!
But, first, I'm looking to Martin Necas from the Canes to continue his barrage of puck firing. To date, he's averaging 2.7 shots per game in the playoffs and has had at least 2 shots in every game this series. I don't expect that to change tonight.
Now, the value plays. I'm looking to Ondrej Palat to bring some of his championship pedigree to tonight's matchup. No stranger to big games, I expect him to pick up his play and get back to his Game 3 for where he had 4 shots on goal.
Lastly, and maybe the riskiest, I'm looking for Tomas Tatar to get on the scoresheet with a shot on goal. Tatar has not registered a shot in the last 3 games, but he did register at least one shot in 5 of the seven games against the Rangers in the first round.
BET: Martin Necas 2+ SOG, Tomas Tatar 1+ SOG, Ondrej Palat 2+ SOG (+125) with BetMGM.
