Rams vs. Packers NFL Predictions for Monday Night Football on December 19, 2022

Now most of the nation will be tuning in to see what Baker Mayfield can do as an encore after leading the Rams to a heroic 17-16 victory over the Raiders last Thursday night with a 98-yard touchdown drive in the two-minute drill. Rams vs. Packers Odds and Betting Lines
Will The Rams Cover The Spread?
The Rams have shown even without Stafford, Cooper Kupp, Aaron Donald, Allen Robinson and others, they won’t be outworked.
There was even another Cam Akers sighting in the win over the Raiders. The much-maligned running back was a big reason why Los Angeles snapped a six-game losing streak. He scored his third touchdown in two weeks and now gets to face a Green Bay run defense ranking No. 30 in the league.
Will The Packers Cover The Spread?
To put it kindly, the Packers are inconsistent. The Rams are decimated with injuries and just trying to scrape another win or two together and not hand the Lions, who own Los Angeles’ first-round pick in 2023, a top-three selection.
The needle on this line didn’t move after Mayfield pulled some magic, so that’s interesting. Green Bay’s offense, which has the benefit of a bye, will need to sustain drives against a Rams’ defense still playing hard and at a high level despite the team being buried in the standings.
The Packers are middle of the pack in total offense, ranking 15th at 345.6 yards per game.
Why The Over Will Hit
Mayfield was thrown into the fire last week and starred in the fourth quarter despite having just one practice with his new team after being claimed off waivers from Carolina. With some time to study the playbook and get more reps with what’s left of the first-team offense, the Rams can be expected to hold up their half of the total and put 20 on the board.
As far as Green Bay, Rodgers & Co. should benefit from having a bye. Rookie wideout Christian Watson has seven touchdown receptions over the last four games but will likely be dealing with Jalen Ramsey here.
Why The Under Will Hit
The Rams are difficult to run against, boasting the No. 5 rush defense in the league allowing a shade under 102 yards per game on the ground. That won’t stop Green Bay from dishing out a large dose of Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon, who’ve combined for 1,471 rushing yards but only five rushing scores.
Rams vs. Packers Prediction
Lean: Rams +7
The Rams’ active roster is a mess but they’re a prideful bunch and won’t be throwing in the towel, that’s for sure. Nothing has come easy for the Packers this year and they have more to lose than their opponent here.
