The Broncos' and Patriots' Postseason Chances

The Denver Broncos and New England Patriots' postseason chances

Today's look highlights the Make/Miss Playoffs market, with a peek at the teams on the lowest end of our probabilities.

It's not to poke fun at the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots, two teams looking to jumpstart a new era, but they just so happen to have a 7% probability to make the postseason. Don't blame us!

They come in just under 7% to be exact, 6.90% for the Broncos and 6.92% for the Patriots. With new QBs, a head coach in New England and a generally uninspiring roster of skill position players, these two clubs might be competing just to reach 5 wins, let alone the postseason - which also happens to be a market we have included in our futures guide.

While it's no surprise that these teams get such a low chance of reaching the playoffs it's their odds to do so that make things messy. Fair odds for either team would be +1345 according to our 6.9% probability, however you get just +920 for the Patriots and even less for the Broncos at +760.

For context, that means the books give the Broncos an 11.63% probability of reaching the postseason, well over our projection.
