The New York Giants have a golden opportunity to move to 3-0 at 8:15PM ET on Monday September 26, 2022 when they'll host a Dallas Cowboys team that is currently without star quarterback Dak Prescott. Considering New York has started the season well, MetLife Stadium should be pretty lively as the Giants look to remain at the top of the NFC East standings.

Cowboys-Giants Odds and Betting Lines

The Points Spread (-1)

The Giants earned a stunning Week 1 win over the Tennessee Titans, as they scored a touchdown late in the game and then converted a two-point conversion to take a one-point lead. New York held on to earn a road victory in that game and then followed it up with an ugly 19-16 win over the Carolina Panthers. Giants head coach Brian Daboll, the former offensive coordinator of the Buffalo Bills, has done a great job of bringing positive energy and a real offensive system to New York.

The Cowboys are coming off a big win over the Cincinnati Bengals last week, and that was a bit of a surprise considering Cooper Rush was starting for Dallas. Rush is merely a game manager as a backup, but he did a nice job of moving the ball down the field in that game. If Rush can avoid big mistakes and hit open receivers, the Cowboys will be happy with the work he has done. But expecting him to win road games is a whole other story.

The Giants are going to load up the box and try to slow down Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard, and they'll do so at the risk of giving Rush some easy opportunities to hit wideouts like CeeDee Lamb. But we're banking on Rush being a bit flustered under the lights and being unable to do that with regularity. The Giants defense isn't anything special, but it's good enough to make a backup quarterback uncomfortable.

Offensively, New York will look to get Saquon Barkley involved early and often, but the team will also get quarterback Daniel Jones on the move. We've seen him beat teams with his legs in the past, and it wouldn't be too surprising if his ability to run ends up being a big factor in this game. Overall, we see Jones doing just enough to help New York win this game.

It's also worth noting that the Cowboys are just 1-10 against the spread in games with a line of +3 to -3 since the start of the 2020-21 season. That's when Mike McCarthy became the head coach of Dallas and that is no coincidence.

Over/Under Points Total (39.5)

The Under has hit in two of the last three meetings between these two teams, and it's also 8-0 in New York home games since the start of last season. On top of that, the Under is 6-0 in Giants home games against NFC East opponents since the start of the 2020-21 season.

In addition to the trends suggesting this game could be on the low-scoring end, this is also a match-up between Rush and Jones at the quarterback position. With that in mind, there won't be many explosive passing plays in this game. That's a good thing for those betting the Under, and it also helps that both of these teams will be looking to establish the run.

This is just not a game in which you should be expecting many points, making the Under the right call — even in a game with a low total.

Cowboys vs. Giants Free Picks

Giants -1

If the Giants win this game, they'll be one of the worst 3-0 teams in recent memory. But we do think New York will remain unbeaten heading into Week 4, as home-field advantage should be huge in this divisional match-up and it's too much for Dallas to expect Rush to win this game on the road. Let's take Giants -1 and hope that Daboll keeps things rolling in New York.

We strongly suggest taking this with the FanDuel risk-free bet of up to $1,000 offer mentioned at the top of this article because, even if the Giants don't cover, you'll still have plenty to work with in order to bet more games. You can claim it ➡️ here ⬅️.
