MORE: Week 1 NFL Predictions for Every Game

Starting today, we'll look at different aspects of the guide as we count down the days to the NFL season. Each day, we'll highlight one piece of data from our NFL Futures Betting Guide relevant to that day's countdown, from 14 down to 1. You'll find the previous insights in each subsequent article each day, as well.

NFL Week 1 Countdown

Day 12 - Exact Division Order 1st/2nd

The two most-likely results atop the NFC East

Today's highlight is more of a holistic look at a full market, the Exact Division Order (1st/2nd).

Unlike yesterday's preview, this just looks at who will finish in the top two spots of the division as opposed to all four teams. In the Futures Guide, you'll find every possible combination of teams that can finish atop the division, 12 in total, hence being featured on Day 12!

As you can see in the example above, we've highlighted the two most-likely results atop the NFC East division. Both results feature the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles, with each team leading their respective result.

One of these come with value with the Cowboys in 1st and the Eagles in 2nd, while the other is nearly identical to our fair price. That doesn't make the Eagles/Cowboys bet a bad play, but if you want to get an edge against the books, you'll see nearly +100 worth of value for the Cowboys/Eagles play.

The books' odds of +310 translate to a 24.39% probability, for a 6.6% edge.

For contrast, look at the example below, which shows the least-likely results for the NFC West. Neither should come as a surprise, but it still highlights just how far off the books' odds are, showing you how difficult it is to get fair odds on longshots like these:
