Mattress Mack

He did it - he finally did it. Months of taking L after L did nothing to deter infamously bad gambler Mattress Mack from going big ahead of the Final Four. With a pre-tournament bet of $1M for the winner of the tournament to come from the East Region already in his keeping, Mack, whose real name is Jim McIngvale, decided to go even bigger; placing a series of bets over the weekend for Kansas to come out as champions on Monday night.

In total, $8.85 million was laid down by the Texan billionaire on the Jayhawks, walking away with more than $11M in profit when the Jayhawks came back from 15 points at halftime to win by 3.

And while many (including me) have enjoyed the long losing run of the furniture magnate, credit where credit is due: this was Mack's night. 

He is still down a couple million this year alone, though.

Jayhawks Futures Bettors

Sports gambling is always a roller coaster of emotions, but not too many games are like that. Kansas looked like they had no hope at halftime, with Dimers.com College Basketball projections giving them just a 34% chance of taking home the crown. But that's the glory of sports.

The Jayhawks' comeback led to some big futures tickets being cashed, with Dimers contributor JD perhaps the pick of the bunch, cashing a pair of pre-tournament bets for Kansas to become national champions at odds of +1800 and +1300 to walk away with a combined payout of close to $17,000.

Correct Scores

Whether it be a Super Bowl, NBA Playoffs or the NCAA Title game, when the masses come out and bet on the big events, you can always count on seeing some ridiculous correct score bets hit. Of course Monday night was no exception.

If you correctly guessed the correct score of Kansas to win 72-69, you could have turned just $1 into $231. Or, if you're completely reckless with no regard for human life, you could bet even bigger, as some bettors did, claiming as much as $11,550 from a $50 bet. These people are crazy.
