Best NBA Player Props Today

Atlanta Hawks vs. Detroit Pistons, 7:00PM ET

We have the Over in the Hawks-Pistons game as one of our NBA best bets for tonight, but that doesn't mean a player can't cash in on a defensive prop. In fact, we see the Pistons putting a lot of rim pressure on the Hawks tonight, giving Clint Capela the chance to put a few blocks on the stat sheet. 

Capela has only had one multi-block game this season, but he did it 30 times in only 74 games a year ago. This is also a guy that averaged at least 1.5 blocks per game in four straight seasons from 2017-18 to 2020-21. So, we know that he's capable of defending the rim at a high level. 

It's just a little surprising to see Capela's odds at nearly +200 for him to block two shots, so we're taking it based on the value alone. We had a similar approach with Luka's steals yesterday and won.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Toronto Raptors, 7:30PM ET

In 10,000 simulations of tonight's Sixers-Raptors game, Joel Embiid averaged 4.2 turnovers per game. The Philadelphia superstar is averaging 3.8 turnovers per game on the season, and now he faces a Toronto team that is 10th in the league in defensive rating and has a number of wings with serious length to block passing lanes and get their hands on the basketball. 

It just really wouldn't be surprising to see Embiid turn the ball over at least four times in this game, as he has already done so twice in the four games that the Sixers have played this season. He's going to get off balance a bit trying to go to the basket, and the Raptors can intercept his passes with all of their rangy forwards.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Denver Nuggets, 10:00PM ET

Nikola Jokic has only 28 total points over the last two games for the Nuggets, so he hasn't exactly been doing a lot of scoring recently. He does, however, have a matchup with the Lakers on Wednesday, and Los Angeles has proven to be a really solid defensive team this season — despite being winless thus far. 

With the Lakers likely to be doing a good job of scrambling and getting to the Nuggets shooters, you should expect Denver to need to dump the ball inside to Jokic a bit more than usual in this game. Jokic also averaged 27.5 points per game in two meetings with Los Angeles last season, and he shot 64.7% from the floor in those games. 

This just really feels like a game in which Jokic will need to score the basketball, so we're backing him to do just that. It's also a national television game and he always seems to perform at a high level under the bright lights.
