Best NBA Player Props Today

Pelicans vs. Nets, 7:30PM ET

Are we doing this? Yeah, we're going to do it. We're betting Ben Simmons, baby! After more than a year out through injury and mental demons, we will finally get a close look at what the former No. 1 pick looks like in an offense that contains two high quality players in Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, not to mention a genuine 3-point threat in Patty Mills off the bench.

Simmons in his new home will not be relied upon to score points, he will be using his strengths as a playmaker setting up the rest of the team.

While it was preseason, he is already showing signs that he will be a double-digit assist threat on a nightly basis through the season, averaging 10.5 assist per 36 minutes through four lead-in games.

Knicks vs. Grizzlies, 7:40PM ET

Many experts in the league think that this might be the year that RJ Barrett flourishes in New York. With more stability around the Knicks leading into the season and with the off-season pick up of Jalen Brunson, more opportunities should present themself for the man who was taken after Zion Williamson and Ja Morant in the draft a couple of years ago.

Barrett saw an increase in his usage last season, increasing his average shots per game from 14.7 in 2020-21 to 17.1, resulting in an average of 20 points per game. With the Canadian now in his fourth year in the NBA, we should naturally expect those numbers to increase even further.

Don't be surprised to see Barrett as a contender for the Most Improved Player award this season, and don't be surprised to see him get off to the right start tonight against Memphis.

Rockets vs. Hawks, 7:40PM ET

There's been a lot of discourse throughout the summer around Atlanta and their trade for Dejounte Murray to partner in the backcourt with Trae Young. Many have assumed that the Hawks will utilize the former Spur as a playmaker, leaving Young to play off the ball, therefore opening up more scoring opportunities.

If the preseason has been any indication, though, it's Murray's scoring production that may benefit most from the tandem arrangement, not vice versa. In each of the three warmup games they have played together, Murray has scored more than his backcourt teammate in each game.
