Free NBA Picks For Wednesday March 9, 2022

Suns vs. Heat, 7:30PM ET

This one (kind of) relies a little bit on Devin Booker's status, so feel free to wait until he is announced in or out.

Based on the line being 7 right now, it seems like the books are expecting him to miss. If he is named in and the line comes into around Heat -5, take the faves.

Miami is absolutely rolling right now, and whether Booker plays or not, they should cover the spread that the sportsbooks end up setting.

The Suns players that are certain to play will be getting tired, having played multiple games in a row without two or three of Chris Paul, Booker and Cameron Johnson, and will likely struggle against a four-quarter performance from the Heat on their homecourt.

Update: Booker is in and the line has moved to -4.5, pretty much as we predicted. Heat to cover.

Hawks vs. Bucks, 8:00PM ET

Speaking of home teams that are rolling right now, the reigning champs have won five in a row, including dubs over the Suns (by 10 points), Heat and Bulls.

Now they come up against Trae Young and the Hawks and will be confident of making it six in a row.

Atlanta is looking destined for the Play-In Tournament, whereas the Bucks need to keep winning in order to push for the one seed. 

We like the Bucks to keep it going with a reasonably comfortable win over the Hawks.

Thunder vs. Timberwolves, 8:00PM ET

After taking a couple of favorites on their home courts, we're now targeting an underdog on the road.

The Thunder have the second best spread record in the league this season (38-23-4) and now face a 14.5-point line with SGA in some of the hottest form of his career.

As good as the Wolves have been (five straight wins), this line is simply too high for a team that is prone to a collapse as favorites.

Plus, at the time of writing, every Minnesota starter bar KAT is listed as a game-time decision. So whether they all suit up, or some play under an injury cloud, we like OKC to keep this one close.
