The first Christmas Day NBA matchup features the Knicks hosting the Sixers. Not many teams in the league are playing better than New York right now, and the team is doing it with a balanced offensive attack and stellar play on the defensive end.

Jalen Brunson has consistently been excellent for the Knicks, but RJ Barrett and Julius Randle pretty much take turns being the team's second option. And any number of players can go off for the Knicks off the bench, with Immanuel Quickley being the one that does it most often. For the Sixers, things are a little more simple, as it's always going to be Joel Embiid and James Harden spearheading everything. 

This game will ultimately come down to whether or not the Knicks are able to slow down Embiid. The big man had one lousy game against the Knicks last year, scoring just 14 points in 30 minutes of action on October 26, 2021. But he came back with a fire inside the next two meetings, averaging 32.0 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game in the other two — which both ended up being double-digit wins for the Sixers. Considering the way Embiid is playing this season, it's more likely than not that he'll show out on the Christmas Day national stage. 

With the Knicks not having a big man as dominant as Embiid, or a guard as dynamic as Harden, they'll really have their work cut out for them here.
