NBA Playoffs Betting: Our Dallas Mavericks vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Game 2 Betting Strategy

Now that we're into the second round of the NBA Playoffs, we're seeing at most two matchups per day. With the smaller slates and focused games, the books have been rolling out expanded betting markets, especially on player props that can offer lucrative plus-money opportunities.

For example, ahead of Pacers-Knicks Game 2, we looked at the Top Points Scorer market with Jalen Brunson such a heavy favorite. Well it turned out to be the right day to do so as Brunson missed a quarter of play and some of our lucky followers bet on Tyrese Haliburton to be the points leader at a big +3500 payday.

We're going to dive into a few different markets for Game 2 of the Dallas Mavericks vs. Oklahoma City Thunder series.

Our model has been running simulations on today's slate ever since lines became available and we are using that data to identify betting opportunities in the Dallas Mavericks vs. Oklahoma City Thundergame.

Four Ways to Bet on Mavs-Thunder Game 2 - May 9, 2024

As mentioned, we are looking at the Game 2 matchup featuring the Dallas Mavericks vs. Oklahoma City Thunder.

You can find a dozen props with an edgeas well as prop projections for every player in this game with Dimers Pro, so if you're not keen on these wagers, use our data to find the play that's right for you!

Bet #1 - Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Top Points Scorer (+170 on FanDuel)

In Game 1, Shai ended up as the overall points leader and he didn't even need to crack 30 points. That probably won't happen very often in this series with three players (Luka, Shai, Kyrie) capable of dropping 30 on any given night.

Tonight, SGA gets a 33-point projection from the DimersBOT, one behind our presumptive leader Luka Doncic at 34. The Mavs' superstar has been hampered by a knee injury and while he's suited up and played, it's clearly affecting his output. While Luka is -105 to lead the game in scoring, SGA is a tasty +170.

Bet #2 - Chet Holmgren To Record a Double Double (+155 on FanDuel)

At first glance, you'd think a guy like Chet Holmgren would be a walking double-double with his stature but he averaged a modest 7.9 RPG in the regular season. He flirts with the double-digits regularly though and tonight our model projects him for a 20-10 performance.

At +130, his 10+ rebounds prop is playable on its own and that projection also makes him a rebounds leader candidate at +260.

Bet #3 - Luka Doncic To Record a Triple Double (+250 on FanDuel)

Another combo meal backed by our projection, we're banking on a vintage Luka performance. Our line of 34/10/11suggest his 8.5 rebounds and 10.5 assists lines are both playable props as well, but we're looking at the beefier odds for this one.

He's got one TD in the postseason and has shown upside in each category, hitting double-digit rebounds and assists in three individual games. As mentioned, he's nursing a knee injury that's seemed to slow him down but with the Mavericks hoping to avoid the 2-0 hole, our model likes Luka to do what he does best.

Bet #4 - J. Williams & C. Holmgren 20+ Points Each (+378 on FanDuel)

A combined 3 points kept this from cashing in Game 1 and it's got the best odds of any of these wagers in Game 2. Our model projects Chet Holmgren for 20 points and Jalen Williams for 23. AT +190, Holmgren is worth a look on his own to hit 20 points, too. Jalen Williams has hit this in three of five playoff games, with 18 and 19 in the other, while Chet has one 26-point outing.

Dimers' Expert NBA Picks and Predictions

As well as being your best source for NBA predictions, Dimers also has the latest NBA news, NBA predictionsfor every game, weekly NBA best bets, and NBA props and NBA trends.

Can I bet on NBA with Dimers?

No. There’s no NBA bet slip on our site because we don’t take any NBA bets ourselves. We’re the friend who gives you the best NBA picks and predictions then tells you where and how to get the best NBA sign up offers at the sportsbooks, so you can throw your NBA bets down. That’s it!

When you click on one of our buttons or links in our NBA content, you’re whisked away to DraftKings, BetMGM, FanDuel, or one of the many other sportsbooks we work with.

Once you get there, you can join up to score a welcome bonus (up to $200!), and then get those NBA bets down for yourself, but you’re betting on the NBA with them, not us. Since you are never betting anything directly with us, we don’t have access to your personal information or sensitive financial info like credit card numbers.

It also means that despite our best efforts to confirm that a sports betting site still has that awesome NBA sign up offer available, the best ones often disappear just as quickly as they appeared. We always take these offers down once we know they’re no longer available. We take our responsibility to provide up to date NBA information very seriously.

Finally, Responsible Gambling is extremely important to us, so please remember that NBA betting should be seen as a form of entertainment - adding to your enjoyment while watching from the couch - not a side hustle or second income stream.

If Dimers doesn't take NBA bets, then how do you make money?

Whenever you join a sportsbook mentioned in our NBA picks and predictions across the website, or use one of our promo codes, we get a small commission for referring you. Don’t worry, though, this doesn’t affect you in any way at all. That’s a fee the sportsbook pays us as a thank-you for sending another NBA bettor their way.

We’re always happy to help our readers troubleshoot any problems. Start with our About Us or Contact Us and if that doesn’t work for you, then you can always send us an email at contact@dimers.com. We’ll do our best to help you figure it out.

Dimers and NBA betting

  • Dimers, and online sports betting, are not scams – NBA betting has been legal since May 2018.
  • We give you the best NBA picks and predictions, and tell you where to find the best sign up offers, but you don’t actually bet on NBA with us.
  • We do not collect sportsbook sign up or credit card information.
  • We get a commission if you join a sportsbook through our NBA content, buttons or links.
  • We’re always happy to help you troubleshoot any issues. Just ask!

Responsible Gambling
