NBA Player Prop Predictor Expects Big Night From Three for Celtics

The NBA Playoffs are off and rolling as we head back to Boston for the Eastern Conference Finals, as the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat lock horns in Game 2. While the Heat took an emphatic victory on Wednesday night in the series opener, our NBA predictions model isn't expecting the home team Celtics to take it lying down in Friday night's sequel. In fact, our DimersBOT is anticipating a green splash party.

If you're going to bet the Celtics, we are here to help. With several Celtics players projected to have big performances from behind the three-point line, we've cooked up our best plays to make for Game 2 with a monster parlay that you're going to want to get in on.

Before you place any wagers tonight, make sure you’ve got an account at the best books available in your state. Currently, DraftKings are offering new users $150 in bonus bets for placing just a $5 wager, while BetMGM and FanDuel are offering up to $1,000 back in bonus bets for your first wager. Head on over to our Best Sportsbooks page to see how you can capitalize on these exclusive offers.

Which bets should you make?

Averaging 38.8 three-point attempts per game throughout the postseason, the Celtics lead all remaining teams in the playoffs for attempts from range per game, and have bettered every single team that participated this year with a 39.3% success rate.

But for all of Boston's prowess from three-point range, Game 1 against the Miami Heat could not have gone worse. Shooting a dismal 10-29 from deep; their second worst result in 14 postseason games.

That statistic may be enough to scare some people into thinking that the Heat have the Celtics all figured out, especially considering their dominant Game 1 win, but if the playoffs have taught us anything, it's not to fall for fool's gold. Of the last 15 times where a road team has won Game 1 in an NBA playoff series, the home team has come back and won Game 2 every time. That includes these Celtics just two weeks ago when the bounced back from a Game 1 shock against the Philadelphia 76ers to completely decimate them in the following game.

And that's where we turn to our DimersBOT, who is not only expecting Joe Mazzulla's men to atone for their loss on Wednesday, but to do it in style.

Our prediction model has identified five different guys who are all in line for big nights from deep and we're going to have some fun with it.

BET #1: Jayson Tatum 5+ Made Threes (+280 on FanDuel)

Tatum went 1-3 from deep in Game 1, well off his usual numbers where he has been averaging 8.6 3PA in these playoffs. With the Celtics needing a response, we're likely to see it from the Celtics' marquee man. Our projections have Tatum hitting five threes.

BET #2: Jaylen Brown 4+ Made Threes (+290 on FanDuel)

Jaylen Brown has remained consistent throughout these playoffs with an average of 5.4 attempts from three, and he is set for another big night powering the offense on Game 2. Brown has had a nice history of nailing big time shots against the Heat over his career, hitting 4+ threes in 5 of his last 12 games against them. At +290, our model says this is a bet worth taking with four threes predicted.

BET #3: Malcolm Brogdon 3+ Made Threes (+460 on FanDuel)

Our model also likes Malcolm Brogdon to continue to lead by example off the bench. Brogdon has been a reliable hot hand as part of the second unit in these playoffs, hitting 2+ threes in seven of his last eight games. Home teams that have lost the first game of a playoff series have come back and won Game 2 each of the last 15 times, meaning that we think a positive shooting night is coming for the Celts. We've projected Brogdon to hit three threes.

BET #4: Marcus Smart 2+ Made Threes (-240 on FanDuel)

Smart hit this total in Game 1 and has done it in five of his last six games. Often relied on early in the game to motor the offense, bettors should expect to see anywhere from four, even up to 10 attempts from deep in Game 2. We're taking this one.

BET #5: Al Horford 1+ Made Threes (-850 on FanDuel)

Big Al has not had the most prolific of postseasons from behind the three-point line, but we do know that with the way the Celtics play, he will get volume. Horford has hit at least one long ball in 25 of his last 30 games. He's a safe bet to at least get one to fall.

With our best 5-4-3-2-1 plays locked in, what better idea than to parlay them all together? FanDuel Sportsbook are giving us some big odds for this one with odds of +7598. A $5 bet would return $379.90.
