Free NBA Picks For Monday February 28, 2022

Timberwolves vs. Cavaliers, 7:00PM ET

Decimated by injuries to their backcourt players, the Cavs are facing one of their toughest periods of the season as they try and weather the storm. They were able to do as much against the Wizards on Saturday night but were only able to put up 92 points. That kind of offensive output is just not going to match it against the Timberwolves who have regularly been able to get to the 100 point marker before the end of the third period so far this season. Expect the likes of D'Angelo Russell and Anthony Edwards to run these guys off the floor.

Pacers vs. Magic, 7:00PM ET

While neither of these two struggling teams are producing particularly pretty basketball as of late, they are producing some high scoring games. Indiana, who will be full of confidence after an upset victory over Boston yesterday, have been scoring at an insane clip over their last five games with 120 points per outing. While the Magic aren't exactly hitting those heights, their general awfulness on the defensive end over that same span is alarming, giving up an average of 121 points to their opponents. Expect the pace of this game to be frenetic.

Hornets vs. Bucks, 8:00PM ET

We LOVE taking the overs in Hornets games, but even we have the right sense of mind to know when a line is a little off. The total is set at 241.5 for Charlotte's tilt against the Bucks - a figure they couldn't reach in the previous two meetings between the sides in 2022.

A big key to those two games going under was the poor shooting of the Hornets from deep, going at just 30% and 33% respectively as their streaky shooters found it tough to deal with Milwaukee's perimeter defense. That isn't a fluke; the Bucks rank in the top half of the league for opponent three point field goal percentage. Shut down Rozier, Melo and Oubre from behind the arc and the 60 point combined average per quarter is going to be a bridge too far.
